This won’t be popular but I think they should trade both petey and Hughes, niether will make it through 4 rounds of the playoffs. Get some size and grit combined with skill back.

As others already mentioned, Miller chose to leave with his play. He very evidently quit on the team playing like a shell of his former self for an extended period of time. No more proof than he waived his full NTC. So I don't know what choice Vancouver really had. Petey might be sucking, but he's quite obviously trying. If you traded Petey, you still likely have a sulking Miller. As much as the riff between them was publicized, it must have escalated to rift with coaching/management as well. I'm not a fan of Miller as a person, but I can't imagine he would just snap to and start trying again once Petey got traded. That would just be unheard of level of transparency on being whiny POS drama king that would get absolutely torn apart by today's media.

How this is working out is Hughes is getting well rested for the tourney at the expense of the Canucks.

As the situation sits now, he needs to get healthy for the Canucks stretch run and make the playoffs. Regardless of fans arguing if they make it or not, he's the team captain and needs to make a choice here that puts the team first. If he were healthy, fine but since he's not... just rest for the 2 week break.

Thats a tight window you're giving me - the answer is everyone from the 23 draft? So for us 2 players (Brzustewicz would have been 3), and I would imagine 2-3 from every other team in the league?

But why is that the only stipulation for hanging on to him? What about everything else I said from my last post? I gave you a lot of relavant evidence that you didn't mention.

Given our top 4D could likely be set for the next 5-8 years - he's realistically the best trade chip prospect we have. He's kinda replaceable - especially if we hang onto our 1&2 round picks and draft D.

And if we could package him with a Soucy, Demko, Hogs if might fetch us the young 2C that we need now.

We just traded for a 2C. How many do you want? Drafting D isn't going to fill the hole anytime soon especially if you're looking to move Soucy and promote DPetey. It’s a bigger hole then you are making it out to be, regardless of the age and contract length of the players ahead of him. I just think there are better ways to get there while maintaining a quality group to develop in the A.

Plus, why on earth would any team take those 3 guys and Mynio for a top 6 C? That's over 11mil in salary for a lot of question marks.

Whipper has been a regular on HB for 20 years. He has the record for the most bans in the history of HB. For the last 20 years he has woke up in the morning every day and his main purpose has been to goy annoy the fuck out of every thread on this site. Not much of a life legacy but who am I to argue.

EP#1C, FC is #2/3C - another young 2C makes us stronger down the middle. Suter/Bluegar 4C, depth = Sasson, Karlsson, Raty, Aman, Mueller.

More options is better, like playing a C on the wing.
