I think the biggest problem we have now is Ryan Lindgren, and for me to admit that one is quite painful
that doesn't mean I think Zac Jones is answer either - jimbro83
Rangers should sell lindgren vesey smith at the tdl. Get a real 1LHD. Add another dman as well. Find a 3c. Kreider/Zib gone in the summer. Or at least one

Attended game last night, some "Quick" observations:
1) Didn't remember Miller being so fast on his skates --- really rapid acceleration and very much a north/south skater which was sorely needed.
2) Lindgren IS a problem! Out of position far too often for a player with his experience. Very noticeable ( and usually in a bad way ). Credited with 3 giveaways last night and I actually thought it was more. Took a bad penalty too. Not sure what Drury can do, but I hope re-signing him is off the table.
3) Rempe: The kid is like a puppy ---- pissing everywhere in your home but then does something adorable. He took a DUMB penalty negating an early PP, but later in the game he was hitting guys and Vegas defensemen were noticeably affected.
Lavi trusts the 4th line too --- they were out for regular shifts in the 3rd period when game was close.
Fun Fact: during the game, MSG monitors occasionally displayed players skating speeds and REMPE was our fastest in terms of MPH!
4) My daughters favorite player is Mika. We naturally paid close attention to how he was playing. He played with a determination and focus that I haven't seen in awhile. I prefer him to be a center, but if putting him on RW keeps him playing like this, then we will have keep him there. Miller took 12 face offs last night, Mika took 9 so his strong skills at the dot are still being utilized as a RW.
5) Something is defintely wrong with Kreider. Hoping they shut him down for 2 weeks during 4 Nations Tournament!
6) Good for Quickie to get his 400th --- especially in front of an appreciative home crowd! |

We’re in real good shape. People can believe again - Slimtj100

Tommy, saw that about Rempe top speed also. I think it said he reached about 22.5 MPH. |

He corners like a Great Dane, though!!
I noticed one play where he came in on the forecheck and Vegas moved it to the D partner and out, meanwhile Rempe needed 3/4 of the offensive zone for his turn back on to D!! lol

Absolutely Tony!
But point is --- the kid scares defensemen coming at them fast in a straight line on the forecheck. |

He certainly does that!! I wasn't trying to knock the kid, it just made me laugh when I saw it.
I was thrilled seeing Lavy actually putting the 4th line out there in the 3rd in a tight game. We can't solve our issues without playing the guys who deserve to be played! |

I understand why Kreider wants to play for his country in this tourney but wish he hadn’t been selected.
The D is an issue. Problems from Saturday, slot being open, was the same yesterday. Quick made a few big saves, a few shots were blocked and several chances just missed connecting. To me, that’s the biggest issue. Center needs to remain in the slot. Carrick chased when Fox was muscled off the puck on thee second goal of the game Saturday and left the slot open. If that gets fixed somewhat, I will feel much better about future chances |

It would be a shock if we jumped the devils in the standings. But it’s not out of the question if Markstrom isn’t healthy. The 4 nations break will probably help, but the devils in general haven’t been world beaters like people thought, including me |

The Czechs would barely be able to even ice a team. They're only using NHL players and there are only four active Czech NHL defensemen. I don't care too much about the tournament but I definitely have no issue with leaving Russia out of any international competition. |

it's a total NHL thing though, it's not an international hockey federation thing or whatever they call it
this format leaves many of the best players in the NHL out of it for political reasons, IMO it's senseless |

It has made these trades happen tho. Before TDL. Idk if it’s because the teams can practice and really set up a plan of attack for rosters once it ends, but teams have made bold moves before this tournament happen |

Right and, in a vacuum, I would greatly prefer to see the Russian players partake in this and the Olympics because nothing beats best-on-best competition...but Russia has been pretty much unilaterally banned from every sporting competition on Earth since they invaded Ukraine and I really can't say I disagree with the decision.
I wish it weren't the case because international hockey is better when the Russians are playing but I don't really blame the NHL/IIHF for leaving them out either. |

The rangers looked like a different team the last 2 games. Still there is plenty of work to be done. I said in the past they don’t need a bunch of fighter's, just guys with grit who can score. Some think his age is a factor, but we have seen players last into their late 30’s playing effectively. I think Miller could be that guy. Good deal for both teams although I hate giving up a first protected or not. |
