So Heiskanen from Dallas just underwent knee surgery and is out month to month after that Stone hit. They have the resources, and they are at the right stage to add a player like Risto. He could slot into their top 4 while Miro is out, and be a third pairing dman when he returns. Jim Nill might like the term with Risto, as they are missing Tanev this year, and Risto could help with that. They traded their first this year, but they do have their first for next year, which might be a blessing to spread out the returns for any trades made. If not, they are stacked with youth, maybe a Maverick Bourque or something like that, but I could see a trade between Dallas and Philly with Risto as a the main piece heading out. - TheFreak

Im not trading risto if I have to retain, at that point it's not worth it, and personally if I was the flyers I be looking for a 2026 1st rd pick, you have enough in this draft, it be nice to have more next year as well. - SlNlSTER
The Flyers will not have to retain on Risto. People on this site don't have a clue. I would say they don't know what they are watching, but I seriously doubt they even watch the games at all. I agree the Flyers have enough in this draft. To me the Flyers to get another elite level talent in the top 5 of this draft to grow with Michkov, and then get ready to augment that young core with good free agent signings. I don't expect the Flyers to keep all 7 picks in the first two rounds. They will have the ability ot wheel and deal for once, so there will be several good options for them. |

Giving jett a few games at the nhl level is never bad, experience is Experience.
The fact you pointed that out as a problem, shows ypu lack hockey knowledge.
Giving the kid 8 or 9 game look, even if he is not ready can help him in the long run. - SlNlSTER
Just .. no. There is a difference between calling up a player from the AHL to fill in a few games for a player who is injured and declaring a young kid from juniors, who was a controversial pick, had made the big club out of camp only to have to send him back to juniors after only playing 4 games because anyone could see he wasn't ready. They put a spotlight on him as a PR stunt and it failed badly.
He did not get an 8 or 9 game look but that's how long they kept him in the press box because how bad would it look to send the kid down after publicly patting themselves on the back and having him on the opening night roster to send him back after a week? The kid spent several games and over a week straight in the press box at the end until they felt they could send him down without being criticized. Stupid. |

Problem is, he can't go to the ahl ( hoping that rule changes in the future for ohl)
Tell me how playing up to 9 games, yes he played 4 and look from up top for a few) it really doesn't hurt his development.
Problem is in the ohl one he is there he can't be called up, so why not see what you have and what you want him to work on.
I expect them to give him and Bonk a look, but good news for bonk I do believe he will be in the ahl

Nice job on screening for 1rst goal…doesn’t go in without him there. Good fight. If you like that type of thing. If you only get 5-7 minutes a night at least he gas left a positive mark so far. |

Will someone tell Ersson the Flyers are trying to get a higher draft pick already? |

If the Flyers hold on, Ersson is 1st, 2nd, and 3rd star. |

He looks happy just to be out there again. Maybe a team will give up a 7th for him at the deadline? |

agreed, I think Risto could get a 1st round pick, but I wouild prefer to package him with other assets to get a younger player with a high ceiling |

I have zero complaints about him in the 1st period. I slept through most of the 2nd and 3rd, so have no idea how he looked the rest of the game |

Wild take and I'll happily own up to it but I see Farabee eventually elevating his game to before his neck injury and being a staple in Calgary's top 6. I can also easily see Frost get promoted (I believe he's currently centering their 3rd line) and seeing regular PP duty as well as perhaps bumping up in the lineup pending injuries or a hot streak.
I can't recall ever seeing a player as poorly utilized by a team at that specific stage of their career as Frost was. After seeing how Tortorella didn't use him when the Flyers needed offense more than anything in the last game of the season against the Capitals, sealing their fate and missing the playoffs after being in a playoff position for 80+% of the season, it was clear then that the kid had no chance in Philadelphia. - Pixote Andolini
They’ve both scored a goal, Frost is kicking it in the faceoff circle as well. Flames are lucky to get them. How’s Pelts and Kuzmenko playing? |

How (frank)ing sad this page has become. Even bill/mjl have left. Anyone remember yesteryear when a game night there would be 30/40 pages of comments? Sometimes much more. Congrats CUMcast enjoy your profits and destroying flyers |

At least they didn’t get shut out. Such a boring brand of hockey. Torts seems to have neutered Michkov as he’s barely visible out there now. A losing hockey team with no excitement is impossible to watch. |

Outshot 42-20 to a bad, tired team. At least the Flyers had the chance to show case those world class collapsing defense shot blocking skills and Stanley Cup caliber culture. Let's give everyone 8 year contracts because this is how you win the cup.
