The more I think about it, the more I believe the Flyers need to trade Risto and Laughton as this deadline and tank to get into the top 5 of this draft. The Flyers need to get another young player with elite potential to grow with Michkov. It starts with developing a new young and dynamic core for the future. Until this happens, the Flyers will not be a destination for good payers no matter how nice their facilities are or how well they treat the players and their families. Sure money is the biggest factor for players entering free agency, and why shouldn't financial security be to pof mind? But these players, if they are worth anything, want to also win and feel if they are going to commit to a franchise long term, that franchise is building something they belive can win it all if they join them. Right now the Flyers don't have this. They have nice pieces in Bonk and Luchanko, but these are not elite talents that would attract other top talents to join. Michkov clearly can be an elite talent, if Torts just let's him play, but he is RW, not a premium position. For teams to win in this league they need elite players at the 1C and 1D positions and at least above average goaltending. This is why the Flyers need to tank hard this season to at least try to get a 1C in this draft. The other consideration is it's going to be hard to obtain 2026 picks right now. Teams and scouts are projecting next year's draft to be much better than this year's, so the Flyers are stuck with a lot of picks in a Meh draft. If the Flyers don't pick very high in this draft, they will have whiffed bigtime, that they will not be able to recover from for a long time. The Flyers need to trade more players at this deadline and tank hard.

Top 4 pick is within reach. Kudos to NSH to somehow is falling into a top 3 with an even worse plan then the Flyers to achieve such a goal. Looking right now the consensus top 5 picks in this draft - Schaefer, Hagens, Misa, Frondell, and Martone. Top 5 pick may end up being a winger. McQueen has been out all year with a supposed back injury. For me, that is a non starter. Ask CLB how Lindstrom's development is going this year.

It sure seems like you are team tank now that Danny seems to be on board with it. Not a single thought is developed in your own mind. Just whatever the triumvirate says you seem to go along with.

I think in the end the Flyers will have Martone or Misa still on the board when they pick. Do they opt for need and still draft a center in this scenerio? TBD.

Makes you wonder why TK and Sanheim re-signed. Winning not a prime factor for those 2. They were going to get paid either way and stayed. This entire losing culture core needed and needs to be moved. Those 2, Laughton, Couturier.

Wonder if they try MM at center before the season ends.

I don't want them to get a top 5 pick or top 3. Just for the simple fact if they do it is because they failed and it wasn't part of any plan.

7 picks in the first two rounds?!

The good news is you can try to trade a Risto for a 2026 first as a team might be more willing to kick that can down the road.

Hagens, Frondell, and Misa are the most likely potential centers drafted in the top 5. Misa might have to move to wing in the pros. Frondell has been injured this year (lower body I believe). Does that change your opinion if Hagens is off the board? Or should the Flyers just take the next center on the draft board that is healthy? Just curious. Personally, I'm fine with Misa and Martone if they fall to the Flyers. Schaefer seems to be the consensus #1 right now, so doubt the Flyers get a shot at him.

Schaefer is the best player in this draft. Of course if Danny did not draft Jett and took Zeev we could go center and not worry about D. The Flyers have holes everywhere and if you can draft a future potential 1D you take him every day of the week.

Glad you're not the GM.

Our biggest hole is center, and do you know how the injury is gonna affect him in the future, yes the kid looks good.

After years of futility the Flyers still do not have a #1 center, #1 D, or a #1 goalie.
