I think the fan generated drama comes from the concistency and amount of posting/posters - on and on about trading him. It's so loud and frequent and the more patient fans are starting to lash out.
Even the most die hard Petey fan will admit he's not playing well, everyone can see it, no one is happy about it dude. slurper or hater. no ones happy. The difference is some are willing to wait it out a little longer bcus they know that he'll break out of this funk and then go on a fawking tear for 2 months where he's laser focused, and winning us games regularly. He's done it many times before, but no ones liking this slump he's in - no one should deny it, it's happening. But man, when he's locked in, he goes on LONG streaks and they win a lot of games.
Besides the lack of points - He's playing really well actually, just more so in the D-zone - he's still generating a lot of scoring chances, but not getting much help from wingers and admittedly NOT SHOOTING ENOUGH. The points will come.

Its an entertainment business, and we are entertained! This is all sports now.... show up here to read the bun fights between people thinking they matter is hilarious. No one cares about me or any of you and that is so awesome. Far fewer bar fights and trips to the hospital

The change to the core is more important than the return right now. Get another C and move on. - VanHockeyGuy
That's precisely what all the arguing and division is about.
Some think "let's wait, give it more than 3gms and see what happens" - now that JT is gone. Maybe not rush into another blockbuster - let's see how this group - that are clearly a better, more balanced team - play.
Also, getting Quinn back to see how this new D responds is key before making any more changes. The improvements have been clear, I think we can all agree on at that at least from what we've seen, the last 3 games. MP3 & DPetey are significant upgrades. And FH & DO'C have speed and get us, control o-zone entries like we haven't seen in a long time. |

I am now!
I was definitely wavering a bit there when the team energy was sagging, but am now interested again.

Trade him 100 %.
His play in his own end has been okay but you are not paying him to be defensive specialist like Blueger. The price tag for a defensive center is a lot less than 11 mil.
If McKinnon or Rantanen had 33 points at this this point of the season, their fans would be all over them too. The reason fans are jumping on them is because of poor play.
I will mention again he has only broke 70 points in his seven years twice so I never liked his contract from the get go. He has broke 90 points once. Some fans look at Petey as a perennial 100 point player and he is not.
If Petey's game takes off for the rest of the year and he gets a point a game it is still only 62 points. He deserves the backlash. |

The team needed some veteran presence to get these players in line like the Sedins had when they were getting ready to take over. |

I have said that over and over, even to the owner of this site. We are a group of 25. Outside of here no one cares what goes on here.

Well by that metric they care about my posts too. Many, including you, respond to my posts day after day.

Why do you need to keep stating the nationality of his wife as if that had something to do with domestic abuse? |

9 or 10 games until the TD - no need to rock this boat, lets see how she steers. - Brooks_Light
He's got until July 1st. We'll all know something by then. You know after that he'll never waive. š¤

He can say what he wants I didn't even read it. Fourth line players trying to agitate.

People that are sick of it in here come from both sides of the argument and are discussing it rationally in other threads. This poop in here is just off the wall. You have a couple of habitual liars leading the way by making poop up all day in here with a couple of brainless cheerleaders behind them and one OCD character that is unbearable 90% of the time he is posting. Meanwhile, d!ckweeds like you keep assigning opinions to people to make it look like they are doing the same even when they are not defending Petey, but searching for a rational approach to the problem instead of this "trade him for a 4rth" hysteria. - boonerbuck

How do we know that?
Aren't players traded all the time with trade protection clauses in place??

True. I don't even try to figure out who he is anymore. Kman said some clown named Iggy but I have no idea who that is.

No Hughes again today.
sounds like the same lineup as last game, except Aman in for Karlsson.
? Demko gets another start after pitching the shutout.

It would be a shock now, if they traded EP40 by the TDL. They will reassess in the off season because that is what calculated rational management does to better the team.
In the meantime, Boeser is on the UFA hot seat. There is plenty of accrued cap space by the TDL, 10.7M or so, on top of Boeserās load. So they can do other, more pressing, retooling trades for the top 6 scoring needs. |

Don - "Doesnāt matter. MP and his agent know that Alvin is fired if he walks. He has zero leverage. Demand $10X8"
Dayal - "Thereās no world where Pettersson comes in at a number lower than the $5.25 million with term...Given Petterssonās statistical profile and the leverage...we should probably set our baseline expectations for his next deal somewhere in the range of six years at a $6.5 million" well done Dayal - solid work kid!
NewYorkNuck "Probably closer to 7 with the cap increase."
Booner - :I think thats where his new contract settles"
Vantal - "The cap will be up by 14 mil in two years? I say go for it."
Retinaz - "With the rising cap, would everyone prefer MP at 5-6 years 7m or 8 years 6m?"
NHawk - "My guess is 7/7m to lock him up heāll be 35 at the end of it. 5-6yrs probably a hard sell for a player likely wanting a big last contract."
Jkuzzi - "More money less years. He won't get 7.
6mill x 5 or 6 maybe 6.5 x 6" - Brooks_Light
Good stuff lol
I usually play hardball itās nice to be wrong. I give PA credit for solid contracts other than Twiggy. |

Hog and Dakota have been overpaid this year and I like Hog. The difference is the mistakes of both have been more manageable than 11.6
Dakota has an excuse.
