My way is cut bait & risk a bit better return is missed out on. Well patience for me with a player of his sklll level is years. He's 26, and I've seen 6 really impressive seasons and I think there's many more ahead. His contract doesn't hurt this team right now, his current offensive play does, but I absolutely believe he'll start producing at his career-normal rate.

Posters think this current version of Petey is his ceiling and he'll be stuck in this version forever.

I don't think speed is really his issue, he's still creates off the rush and generates a ton of chances. He back checks hard and is lights out in the D zone.

He leads all NHL forwards with 237 defensive plays. If it is a knee issue it may be contributing to his bad offensive numbers but he's also putting up Barkov level D-numbers - and even elite as Barkov is he didn't start putting PPG Offensive numbers until 6 years into his career.

It’s not only speed it’s his static play style slowing down the play. On the PP if it’s not back to QH the plays dies on his stick too often.
