Imagine getting a young defencemen from Buffalo (like Power or other) as part of the package? Going from one of the worse defence in the NHL to one of the best.

Defence and goaltending wins championships.

Although they have some great defensive pieces, shockingly, I feel good about the D group now and for the next 2.5 seasons. Unless we want a safeguard against Hughes leaving. The team is desperately thin at Center:

1C ) no one
2) no one
3C) pouty - Chytil - Suter
4C) bluegar - Raty

Agreed about Buffalo. Their best assets are D, and after the MPete trade, doesn't seem as pressing to get a Power or Byram.

Don't think CBJ would do Fantili though. As well would the team would probably want someone a little older to fit in their window a bit better.

TBH Why shouldn't they? Fans pay big money to see the games. The pressure from the market will escalate if the results are not there. Just like Allvin told him when he signed his deal. The Canucks better figure out if he can handle it by July, because he'll never waive after that.
