Agree. It's something the team has been missing, especially from Petey. Whatever side of the fence people fall on, it's clear Petey's speed drop off is the biggest impact on his game. It's affecting everything he does. I had knee issues/tendinitis that I couldn't run on, ended up getting an MRI, went to physio for months, got PRP for... took a while to get it back right again but while I had it I couldn't do poop with it. I played a good level of sport so can't even imagine how much that would impact a pro mentally. - NewYorkNuck
All true but as far as mentally goes I don’t cut him any slack. He’s not a role player & have higher expectations for him at his price. If that is alluding to confidence I don’t buy it. He plays a slow & static style on the PP & standing still a lot in the o-zone on ops breakouts. Tendinitis or not that alone irritates me. He never had a great 1st step. |

I liked the game last night. This is why you don't trad Demko. Solid goaltending on most nights is way better than a DeSmith or Silovs.
EP25 is the gift no one expected. Good on Soucy for standing up with him in the scrum with Woods. Some really good hits.
I am imagining when Hughes and Willander join the team. Might be one of the better D teams in the league. Keep Soucy as Depth ( the playoffs have a lot of injuries if the team makes it.)
Chytil best forward.
Hronek best game as a Canuck.
Sutter solid game.
EP40 had a solid game last night if he was a four mil player. - VANTEL

Canucks had a great game last night. It has been almost a week now with lots of positives and today in here, in the media, and on social media everyone is discussing EP116.

He is gay but I haven’t seen anyone suggest that is effecting his game. It’s irrelevant - CanuckDon
Exactly. Look at Messier. Gay as all hell but was a winner nevertheless.

After the playoffs last year:
"Tocchet, who joined general manager Patrik Allvin in meeting with the media Thursday after all the players spoke, said that Pettersson was dealing with “tendinitis,” and explained that team brass and medical staff “felt it was fine to keep going. … We didn’t feel we had to shut him down.”"
From January (though not specific to which injury):
“I see signs after his injury here that he’s playing a solid two-way hockey game, pushing the pace harder, and he will continue to work on his game,” Allvin said. “And for me, I’m more about the process and playing the right way. And when you do so, the points will come.” - NewYorkNuck
Points will come? When will the shots come? 90 is a very sad total. I don’t see him as an assist machine & certainly not a PP contributor for some time. |

I wish there was no such thing as NMCs. The fact that he has no protection now but will have it at season’s end is what makes this waiting game so difficult. If the team waits, NMC kicks in, and Pouty’s play does not improve… it’s a gamble that has a huge payout or a huge loss. - bloatedmosquito
Looking at this season he is a big part in the struggles. He’s not the only reason last season was so good. So many things went right. Ignore last season & use this season as the better gauge & ask if he was traded what would happen? If I were PA this would be at the front of my brain. A point of view that is very necessary. No need to be dreamy on IF EP gets on track & risk his NMC kicks in & he doesn’t perform. Moving on from him boils down to long term contending the PO’s are an obvious expected goal every year.
These next 4 weeks+ leading up to the TDL will be very interesting. PA should explore every option & make a blockbuster deal with EP. Take a fair deal & pass on ghe risk 11.6m could become an anchor. I don’t see it ever being a bargain. |

I enjoyed last night's game. EPT and MPT have a nice stabilizing effect back there on D. Chytil has looked very good, Hronek played well, as did Demko.
Look forward to next game. - Reubenkincade

This place is ridiculous sometimes
Why is Pettersson struggling someone asks?
Answer - he's too focussed on video games, music, fashion and his hair. He's soft. He's gay.
Eesh. - dbot
I've thought he was gay for a few years. |

This has been refuted several hundred times. But you guys just keep ignoring it. Which is why I said early, how many times can we just keep circling back and talking about the same things over and over again. I broke his point totals down Jan-Feb-Mar-April of last year. He started to struggle in April and it continued into the playoffs. - Pacificgem
PP sucks & inconsistent which he is directly responsible for. Special teams cost games if subpar. Cost us against the Oilers. Stop ignoring that. |

Like I said there is one more glaring mistake that needs to be fixed.
I know you are on X and see there is close to a 50/50 spit about moving him before the NMC. Miller's being mean to him is going to be a walk in the park compared to what is going to be said about him in the next 5 weeks. - VANTEL
Miller is gone & drove the bus last season there is nowhere to hide. |
