The team is in the same spot since he took over. Bottom of the league.
He has gotten everything out of them. Yet they still are a bottom feeding team. So, is it fair to say he hasn't gotten everything out of them? Look at the PP as one example of he hasn't gotten everything out of them.
His communication is terrible. What was it he said? He doesn't do one on ones or something to that effect unless they come to him.
He refuses to use analytics. Something he admits.
This is the only level he can take this team. That has been proven over 3 seasons.
The question I have does Danny have 100% authority to dismiss him from his job? or does he need others to sign off.
Either way it is scary to think that Briere and Jones are on board with him as coach. - furio16
This is the only thing that needs to be considered. He absolutely can not be here beyond this season (if he's not shown the door earlier). |

If he is so bad why would people want to get rid if him. Let him finish his contract so they get better draft picks. - WhiskeyMan
Because I think he has too much input on what kind of players this team looks to draft. The last thing we need is more "Torts type" players. |

PP points off RHB.
5/6 PP goals this year? From the right. (other walking off righ)
Has been neutered recently with move to playing mostly LHB.
0 PP points in last 10 games.
2 PP points in last 24 games.
Absolutely ridiculous really. #Flyers
Was the move based on feedback from the power play consultants? Have to wonder if they had this data available via the crack analytics staff. |

Plenty of teams would like to improve their bottom 6 one would think. Tampa Rangers NJ Florida off the top of head. Maybe Wash.
Flyers have some pieces they can sell if they desire. |

I think we needed him when we hired him but I think we're ready to move on. Not sure who would replace him but maybe promote Bradshaw |

If Torts remains in the organization giving up HC title, does he lose say? The current structure is a triumvirate that reports to Hilf. In fact, I would suggest the HC has more authority then Jones to build the team. With Torts ego, is he an equal.of the GM still in a new role? If I'm Briere I would be very concerned if his authority gets cut further with a new HC taking over for Torts. Torts gets kicked upstairs and has influence in a new title. I would be very surprised if Torts would be satisfied in some consultant role as Bob Murray. |

Isn’t that the goalie’s job?
If that’s the case, why pay York when the Flyers can sign 5 more Seelers? |
|
|
|
Really? Tortello....Tortella? Regardless of how his name is spelled, he needs to go asap. I never bought into the Torts is ruining Frosty, York, etc, but now that he's screwing with Michkov, I totally want him out of here. Torts' love for shot-blocking is ridiculous...I don't want our future star player to end up like Lappy. |

Spot on assessment! The announcers keep bragging about how we lead the league in blocked shots....ticks me off every time. If we could provide decent offense, we wouldn't have to block so many shots. Last night's game was horrible despite Hartnell saying the Flyers played a great game.

I would get a whole new set of coaches going into next year. I also do not want Torts having anything to do with personnel decisions after he is let go as the coach. |

When Torts came, some of us loved the idea (me) some of us hated the idea. The Flyers were perceived as a country club and there was never any accountability (at least it seemed that way). The Flyers were is disarray, A rudderless ship that was supposedly undergoing an “aggressive retool.”
One of the chief complaints by the doubters on Torts was that he is horrible with young players. Flyers at the time or early in Torts’ tenure had exciting young players and prospects like Frost, Farabee, Brink, Foerester, later players like Michkov, Foerester, Gauthier, Bonk, Luchenko, Andrae, And Drysdale were drafted, elevated or brought in via trade.
Gauthier never made it to the team and there’s no evidence that was the coach’s fault. The rest of the players all have had at least a training camp with Torts. Can’t judge Bonk and Luchenko so take them out of the equation.
Of the remainders, who of these players has Torts coached up to their young potential. Are the Flyers that inept at drafting. Were those players really not worthy of the hype, draft position or trade value? No one can deny the raw talent of all those young players. So I ask the Torts supporters (I jumped that ship a long time ago):
Who of these young players has Torts coached up to their potential and put them where they should be at this point in the careers?

Torts cannot coach offensive players without stifling their offensive game. I am sure some of the issues with Michkov is fatigue. However, when was the last time you saw Michkov try a creative play on offense? I do not watch every second of every game but it has been a good long stretch since I've seen it.

First you say he is playing like a stud and that is not reality. He has been very average as of late. Now your metric is blocking shots. Bc he blocks a lot of shots he is a stud? Is Seeler a stud?

Everything is the opposite here from russia -- their right is our left and their production on the PP is being m ade to learn how to not be good offensively
pretty straight forward stuff - do not understand why you are confused

You think? 2 top 6 centers, #1 dman, #2/3 dman, and a legit goalie. Easy peasy. |
