You think? 2 top 6 centers, #1 dman, #2/3 dman, and a legit goalie. Easy peasy. - furio16
just wait till the cap goes up -- players will sign here for less than market prices due to the gold standard and culture -- mcdavid was just on the fan 590 saying he would entertain a 7 year deal at league minimum to play on a team that oozes culture |

Wait until they send Sharp and Leclair to whoo those free agents this summer.
They will be impressed. Said before would pay to hear the Flyers pitch to players. |

Thats a myth. Players dont sign for less unless they get tax breaks or want to win. Flyers have always gotten UFAs because they always threw money at them and the team in the past had a chance to win. A non playoff team is not a destination team.

Torts cannot coach offensive players without stifling their offensive game. I am sure some of the issues with Michkov is fatigue. However, when was the last time you saw Michkov try a creative play on offense? I do not watch every second of every game but it has been a good long stretch since I've seen it. - mickel25
Yet Konecny is having a career year under him. Sanheim is also a 40 point Dman under him. Tippett had 28 goals, Farabee hit 20, Brink is having a career year. Theres no evidence there to suggest Torts stifles Offense. The level of talent on the Flyers just isnt good enough. Michkov was struggling long before Torts moved him down and reduced his ice time.
Does he handle his players well and communicate well? Perhaps not but it isnt his fault for the lack of offense.

It should be alarming to any team if Vancouver is truly shopping Pettersson. With that contract, if I am the Flyers I would stay clear of him. If he struggling to play out West, he will struggle a heck of lot more playing the East where space on the ice is even more scarce. |

Never mind how well Torts developed Panarin, or Werenski in Columbus. It's complete nonsense to state Torts can't coach offense and shows a complete lack of understanding of the NHL game. |

Plenty of teams would like to improve their bottom 6 one would think. Tampa Rangers NJ Florida off the top of head. Maybe Wash.
Flyers have some pieces they can sell if they desire. - furio16
Yup, I really want the Flyers to sell all they can, Laughton and even Poehling for sure, and Risto if the price is right. The Flyers have put all of their eggs in this draft class, which unfortunately is not projected to be a strong one. These 2025 picks are not as valuable as we had hoped they would be, so the Flyers only option is to tank hard and get in to the top 5, and then see if they can make a deal to get Hagens at 3, where he is projected to go. Teams are apparently gearing up for the 2026 draft class, and will not trade out of that class right now. |

People still defending this coaching staff is admirable. For the love of God please give them at minimum a 2 year extension. Let Torts finish the job and reap the rewards. |

What other team has been shut out three games in a row?
Flyers are in the bottom half of the league in GPG
The PP is and has been putrid

You telling anyone about being ignorant and stupid observations is rich. You are a terrible poster who doesn’t know much. Uses all the buzzwords the Flyers put out. Do you ever have a thought of your own? |

For the millionth time -- teams do not trade out of the top three
All those players should have already been traded -- giving the team a better chance at getting a top three pick

So Panarin developed with CBJ? He was ROY with the Blackhawks and was basically a PPG player before going to CBJ. What exactly did he develop?

Been a week since the trade. Have the gold standard been able to locate their 2 new players and get them to Philly yet? |

By that definition Vigneault should get credit for the development of TK and Sanheim. He laid the foundation to what those players have become by having better production after he left. Just like Panarin and Werenski in Columbus after they did not have Torts' coaching. I just believe there can be inconsistencies with that definition that Torts gets the benefit of the doubt that other HCs do not.

really watch a few shifts of Michkov's in the next game. Dude is so focused on defensive positioning he has stopped being creative offensively for the most part. That is coaching.

More importantly, a non-playoff team that is constantly up against the cap is not a destination. Hard to attract free agents when you've already spent all your cash on players you continue to pay despite them not being on your roster.
