I do the same for my neighbor, retired dentist, his kids live outside of town, he spends his winter in Florida. Helping your neighbor is pretty common...getting in their will or not (at least try)

Yeah, when COVID was in its peak, I worried about them. Such a nice couple of old folks - same thing, kids not in the area.

Ran most of their errands and picked up their groceries, helped set them up so they could order on line for stuff too.

They invite us over for BBQs in the summer w/ their family when they visit, too.

Not my grandparents, who I miss, but wonderful surrogates.
