I've talked to people who voted for Trump that aren't morons and do realize he's saying alot of bullpoop.
They just agree with some of the principles of what he's doing underneath the bullpoop.
Is it worth it? I personally don't think so, but I get it. - Scabeh
which ones for example?

it's true that they aren't all dumb. we have friends of the family who are republicans and are surprised the things i actually agree with that they say and the things that i don't agree with that dems say. there's something to be said for not presenting your case like an bumhole for sure.
and for the record, i have never referred to all republicans as dumb. just the people who say dumb things. if someone came up saying the dems should run AOC next time, they'd be dumb too. |

what I'm wondering is what % of republicans are actually in favor of all that's going on, I would've assumed at this point that there would be enough debate among the party to start questioning more some of the decisions being taken. |

Well I'm not an expert but, from the top of my head:
Being more restrictive with immigration, reducing the size and costs of state services, less government spending overseas, asking for allies to do their fair share in NATO spendings and operations, restricting gender ideology....
Again, I'm not saying I agree with all or some of them, just saying it's conversations I've had where I get where they are coming from.

Anyway, I find it amusing that Trump throws a fit when people do not immediately obey him when he wants to change the identify/name of something, yet get a range storm when Robert wants to change identity to Roberta.
I still suspect they want to change the name to the Gulf of America is because there is legislation against certain drilling in the Gulf of Mexico, and this is a way they think they can get around it.
I am serious. |

They just elected him Pat, after supporting him during the campaign.
It's gonna take some time before they start questionning him.

I've read an article mentionning exactly what you're saying.
As if just changing the name would void the legislation.
According to all experts consulted on the matter, it doesn't seem like it would.

okay, so it sounds like there isn't a whole lot that they aren't opposed to currently.
I have to say I have a harder time getting where they come from on some of those issues but I do find it interesting to have respectful conversations with someone who disagrees with my point of view.

I find that's an odd logic, if someone isn't in favor of something they should say something about it immediately imho, waiting because he just got elected isn't a great strategy.

Well you might have noticed I've excluded such things as: Making Canada a USA state, "buying" Greenland from Danmark, taxing Canadian produce, bullying allies, naming Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as Secretary of Health and Human Services and so on.... |

That's politics though.
It's not like everyone elected with the CAQ agrees with 100% of their decisions either, but it's a rare sight if someone speaks openly about it.
I can't recall any dissidence from an elected party in their first month after winning a majority.

yeah, I get what you're saying. it's just that there are so many decrees being made in a short period of time that it would've called for an immediate reaction, at least for a few of them imo.
oh well, it is what it is.

they are no republicans anymore. they have sold their soul to the idiots who think being a patriot is wrapping yourself in a flag.
the democrats have to quit pandering to the extreme left and get back to their more centrist ideals. and stop responding to every trump move. get in front and tell people what is happening. keep hammering at it. |

Yeah, that's a party that needs to find a way to reconnect with the working class. I agree with you.
