Yeah, that's a party that needs to find a way to reconnect with the working class. I agree with you.

And btw, I'm not saying you're wrong about Trump and his billionaire buddies. Just saying it's been happening before him.

they are no republicans anymore. they have sold their soul to the idiots who think being a patriot is wrapping yourself in a flag.

the democrats have to quit pandering to the extreme left and get back to their more centrist ideals. and stop responding to every trump move. get in front and tell people what is happening. keep hammering at it.

not quite the issue imho, I think they need to stop concentrating their efforts on pointing out how horrible Trump's ideas are (he does that by himself anyway) and more on presenting an actual plan that addresses the population's needs and suggests more concrete actions. they failed to do that during the last elections.

my belief all the partisan bullpoop started when clinton stunned everyone and beat bush the elder. there has always been a difference of opinion on what is best for the country and any rational thinking person can see the value in both sides.

since clinton beat bush, its become a total lack of any semblance of cooperation/compromise between the two parties.

it is the issue that moved a lot of centrist dems to vote republican, pat.

the proof is in the numbers. biden won with more votes than trump did this time. a lot f that was based on the policies pushed by the extreme left

I'm gonna have to agree with my independant friend on this one. They really pushed people that would usually favor them away.

Not that I wanna get really into this...

There was a point where most people agreed on the problem, but their solutions on how to fix it was different (sometimes vastly). Which eventually lead to some form of legislative compromise / fix (for better or worse).

Now no one agrees on what the problems are, make up their own facts, and nothing gets done. There is a logjam. No meaningful legislation is getting passed.

Compromise / working together is seen as an act of treachery, and will get your primaried and/or replaced.

This logjam has also let the president have too much power than intended under the constitution.

I don't think there's a group that hates the democrats more than the left.

They constantly pay lip service to them but never actually implement the things the left want, which ultimately pisses off leftists and centrists alike since you're not truly advocating for either.

Ultimately the guys actually running both parties have the same end goals. The current system benefits them regardless of who holds power and has for a long time.

what is this "extreme left" though, and what policies are they pushing? I always feel that this is an invisible enemy fed by very specific situations that have gone viral but that nobody is actually cheering for...

I think the term "extreme left" has been coined by the right for what I think are not really that radical ideas, as way to counter balance "extreme right" groups, that are clearly a danger to people. The right knows how extreme the extreme right is, so to call someone extreme left conjures up specific ideas.

I suspect if you stated what is considered "extreme left" or "radical right" ideas that are common sense, almost centralist, most Americans would agree with them.

But it is just easier to scare people than give them a reason to support you, in a quest to win.

Which we have witnessed..

But that may be my bias, as a centralist leaning towards left, not right.
