yesterday it sounded to me like you were insinuating Canada should become the 51st state, but I guess something got lost in translation lol.

- Pat1993

i don't even remember the game. i was filled to the gills with pills back then. all i remember are these weird decorations they had in their building that made it feel like a big high school gym. this would have been right around 99 or 2000 i think.

oh you don't have to. it's just that you join discussions without ever really saying what you actually think, but it's all good.

as previously stated, the canadiens as currently constructed is a total misfit. the canadiens don't have a 2nd line. suzuki, caulfied and salf can be a start. imo, there is no way that dach and nrewhook can be 2nd line players on a contending team. in the best case scenario, dach, newhook and evans are a strong 3rd line for a contender. as for the 2nd line, demidov and laine need a centre. is it beck? does hughes and gorton have to trade for a 2nd line centre? can they afford to wait for hage? another potential option is to switch mailloux to forward. his defensive instincts may be lacking but he is a big, power offensive weapon. if reinbacher is close to ready and if engstrom is on the same tract, maybe sacrificing mailloux from d to forward is a worthwhile gamble. there are options. it's just a matter of the habs braintrust recognizing them and acting apon them.

Great points, if Mailloux is put at forward which line would you place him? We do need a 2C don't think Beck is the solution yet

If we can get 65-70 point 2C then it will take pressure off Suzuki's line to focus and get more points, there are no backup on this team and that's what hurting us particularly if there is injury

i i would start mailloux on the 4th line to see if there is a possibility of successfully converting him to forward. would also give him some pp time. he has the shot and can be an in front of the net presence. if it works out then he could audition as a potential 2nd line power forward with demidov and a 2nd line centre to be determined. anderson could fill in for now as a 2nd line winger while this experiment with mailloux is ongoing. there is some very legit talent in the canadiens system. it's just a matter of putting all the pieces of the puzzle together.

nah they should put Andy on defense, he's good on the PK.

and I think Laine used to be a goalie, they could try that out too.
