We do not have a large family left. Lots died. Most from Cancer, unironically.

And the few of us left are separated by distance, so we rarely get together as a group (and it seems more so by habit, after COVID).

we have a big family and we still get together when we can. we waited the whole thing out and did weekly zoom calls and stuff but we're not going to let it stop us now. that's letting the terrorist (covid) win to me. so we just test as often as possible and definitely before any get togethers. i missed a lot of these family things as a kid but now i understand the importance of them so i go see the fam as often as possible.

We ironically have harsher health regulations on cigarettes up here.

So we tend to die a little slower (and likely, more painfully).

I think if I had kids, or there were still young kids int he family, things might be different.

But the core family is about 14-15 people now, and we live fairly scattered.
