well, let's say they did, I'm sure it would be at a much more reasonable price/term, but I highly doubt this is the "backup plan" in case they don't sign Evans lol. - Pat1993
D-Vo is the only asset (he put's the ass in asset) that is addition by subtraction. He JUST hit 100 goals this past weekend. This guy got 136 points in a junior year. He is beige and lifeless and is better gone for free if necessary. |

yep, let say 2x2.5M as a buffer to center the 4th line and play on the PK.
or they give the job to Beck - fidopro
Hughes was an agent before, I'm sure he has already a pretty good idea if Evans is gonna stay or not, so he's probably been looking at other more interesting options before considering that imho.

bah, he's never really hurt the team, he's just overpaid and it cost too much to acquire him. not saying I'm a fan, but he's been playing decently lately, in a lesser role he's fine.

I think it's pretty clear Evans is not coming back. the question is do you give the #4C to a rookie (Beck) or do you find a vet somewhere on July 1st.
Dvorak is also a lefty, their only one.

why? it isn't because he isn't already signed that they aren't currently working on a deal.

You're not wrong. But look what we gave up for him in a panic and what he makes against the cap for his production!?
And just like Evans, this is Dvoraks contract year.
This sounds (frank)ed....but he's no Armia!!

well that's kinda what I'm saying, you can't really blame that on him lol... but I totally get the frustration, I too would like for the habs to move on to something more interesting.

oh, yeah but I wouldn't take that for meaning anything, he was asked if he liked being in MTL, it's not because he used the past tense that he's definitely moved on or whatever. I find that was way overblown... we'll see.

Not blaming him. BUT....his performance against his contract....He hasn't lived up to 1 day of his contract.
He's one guy that can leave without getting anything back but cap space. That's how brutal that lifeless crash dummy is.
Buh-Bye! Thanks for flying Bastard Airlines

he hasn't lived up to the contract points-wise but I still find it's a bit harsh, considering he can be useful by being defensively responsible and playing on the PK, similarly to Anderson who also found other ways of being useful since he can't score lol. to each his own I guess. |

Trading Evans is fine.
Brining back Dvorak is... bad.

I'm sure he's part of the pieces that Hughes wanted to move on from when he was hired, I'd be very surprised if he comes back. I expect a trade or two... |

Ok, since most players make MORE $$ with every contact, would you sign D-Vo to another contract at his current hit?
I honestly think he'll be a PTO for teams next year.
It's like drafting Christopher Reeves

of course not, he was being overpaid, it's time to be paid more realistically now if he wants to keep playing in the league. no team would agree to an extension with the same numbers imho.

of course I wouldn't give him the same contract.

Nope. This is the MB way of thinking. As much as e need veteran presence....this player is the worst. Get gone.....(frank) all the way off!
He's a loser collecting an undeserving cheque.

Suzuki is a righty. so is Dach, Newhook, Beck, Evans, Hage...
I don't care if they bring Dvorak or not, but ideally they'll need to find a center lefthanded. |
