When I lived in a rural area, we would always be late for school because the school bus system would round up all the kids from different schools / grades in the same pick up so they only had to come down our road once on bad snow storm days.

Sometimes I did not get to class until close to lunch, which was fine for 7-8-9 year old me.

When we moved to Montreal, I walked to school ever day, so not much of a choice.
