Pat, I was back reading ans saw your post about the newest Jake Evans roomers. Renaud Lavoie says that the Canadiens will sign him. Wtf is going on?

I've never heard so much fuss over a 4th liner player that has never scored 40 (frank)ing points in a year. Let him walk and let the kids play. By the (frank)ing time we're ready to compete he'll be more than halfway through the new contract.

Bye-bye!

- Snots33_77

Renaud Lavoie also said if Mark Scheifele was playing last night, Canada might have won in regulation, so...

anyway I don't know where the negotiations are actually at but I like Evans and would want to see him stay at a reasonable price, he's a young veteran that can still be very useful on the habs' bottom 6.

he sounds useful from listening to you guys. how much is he asking?

was it like a sure thing that they weren't going to keep him before?

no, and it's why everyone keeps bringing it up, because we don't really know if he'll stay or not. he doesn't have a high offensive output but if the salary and term are reasonable the habs should keep him around, he's more useful to the team than what he'd fetch in a trade.

I like him too. I will wait to see what eventually happens. But a contract year is dicey and you can see that he's regressing to his mean at this point. Great player for what he does, but putting that money towards the 4th line (even tho the cap is rising significantly) can't lead to unwarranted generosity.

I'd rather 3 years at 3million. He wants to more than double his salary and for longer term, from what we've heard so far.......not a fan of that aspect.

really? I kind of disagree with that, he's still young and has some good years left in the tank for sure imho.

anyway I trust that Hughes won't be dishing out a huge contract for him and then get emotional about it in front of the media when announcing the deal lol...

I meant point-production-wise he's regressing. He's still playing his balls off out there. But yeah, Hughes won't get all Bergevin gif crying about Gallagher the warrior!

the worst part is I kinda get why it was important for Bergevin to sign Gally (even if he did overpay lol), but as a GM you gotta hold it together, jebus.

Hopefully everything works out this TDL and summer and we see an influx of player movement that only improves the team and its future.

so far there's been no indication that we shouldn't trust this management team, so I'm fairly confident we'll be satisfied with the decisions taken

Heh.

And cell service goes down, otherwise, I get to use my phone as a hotspot.

Only time I give up is if power is out and my laptop battery runs dry.

I lost power 2-3 times this winter but never for more than 2hrs, usually for maintenance or a short repair.
