LOL -- How long have the flyers needed a 1C and a 1D? How come the situation has not been addressed yet?
- corduroy

Seems easy enough to do..just trade for them or move up into the top 3 of the draft for 1. You can also draft a third line center over a 1d, and try to push him as a top 6 forward.
Doesn't mean any of it will work.

Never make the mistake of taking a GM at their word. If the Flyers offer the Kings enough, they will trade him.

Except for Briere..he would never tell a lie.

one salary dump turned into a 1st round pick, and the other salary dump was buried, at least partially, in the AHL, and is off the books after this season. So it was an excellent trade.
- jd250

most of his salary has still counted against the cap. Just over $1m can be saved by sending a player on a NHL contract to the minors.

Will Jones and Briere ever get another NHL President or GM job again after they are eventually replaced. Let’s hear some thoughts.

To add they also has to absorb another salary dump to get that first. Nothing wrong with that mind you just odd to leave out.

Does anyone have any examples of a Trade where it has taken 10 days to get said players to the city they were traded to? Any sport?

True though not as a GM. Lots of bad optics so far on Danny’s watch though.

When they traded walker they had to take RYJO back. It wasn’t just Walker for a 1st

I know that. I didn't say anything about RJ due to the dispute over the termination that may end up lasting longer than the season itself. I believe I said there were 2 salary dumps involved and over $15m in salary

It’s wild. For a second I thought it was because trump was putting a tariff on trading and importing players from Canadian teams. Haha

Does the League not have protocols in place? An internationally company like Comcast can't help?

It's very wild and odd to me.

Seems crazy they could come into the States before they got traded and couldn’t after.

It all has to do with the immigration requirements.

They can enter temporarily easily to play but need a work visa when they're traded. That takes a little time.

Joking aside, I was shocked to see it took this long and I still don’t understand why. There should have been no issue as the players were already travelling back and forth between us and Canada. I understand the work aspect as they were now going to be working in the us but it still took way too long.

https://www.nhl.com/flyers/news/briere-discusses-additions-cap-flexibility-and-more-on-flyers-daily-podcast

Briere on progressing through “rebuilding” and emerging into a “building” phase

“I think it's fair to say, we're in between the two stages, maybe. We’re still evaluating.

Briere on Pelletier’s upside

“He’s only 23 years old and the way they were talking about him in the locker room, that's really impressive at his age, already being so well-liked by his teammates. It's more than that with him

Danny is a putz.

- furio16

Lol what do you want him to say

These players we got back are crap but we got a 2nd rd pick

Lol no gm gonna out and out say it.

Flyers 26 games left- 13 against playoff teams. 3 back to back games. My personal favorite- 4 games in 6 days to end the season.

Extending plugs? What are you talking about? Yes rebuilding teams keep the players they feel are part of the solution and trade away players that are not. TK is a big part of this team and franchise, and I for one am very happy he is on the team. Again, you fail to understand the difference between rebuilding, and a tear down to the studs tank.
- jd250

Four redundant players that are devoid of skill on a roster that carries 12 forwards. What team has 33% of their roster tied up in bottom 6 wingers who collectively would be lucky to hit 25 goals?

I think there was a trade of 3 orcs for 2 elves before the battle of Mordor that was held up for 13 days. Issues with getting them through the forest or some crap

They’ll be tired tomorrow while the fly guts are rested. Easy 2 points for the pens to take
