Well if they do win tonight, they can actually get in. The thing is though, say they make, do you think this team can win a 7 game series???
- Brukie

They would have to be playing amazing hockey in order to leapfrog all the teams ahead of them... So yes, IF they do make it, they could definitely win a series.

With that said, I don't think they will make the playoffs.

Rangers had 6 players with 70 or more points last season

This year they have one pacing over 70.

Id like to get B Byram and D Fabbro for this defense, and if the net loss is Schneider, Id be fine with it.

Last night was clearly one of the worst losses of the season.

Like TJ, I am usually an optimist but this team clearly doesn't have what it takes. The rest of this season should be about preparing for next season. Lindgren and J-Brod must go in upgrading moves to the defense and a true 3C must be found. Leadership must emerge from within this locker room to move forward. Rentals are out of the question. Any trades need to be made with the future in mind. Good luck Drury!

This has been the plan since December. It was always about next season. Every move Drury had made is about retooling to be contending for 25/26

This is why I suggest going for Byram (23) and Fabbro (26/27). One bright spot is we have Perreault most likely coming next year. I think Berard is as NHL ready as a player could be so Im looking forward to seeing him in the lineup and its about time Othmann got a shot. However theres a massive logjam on this team with heartless veterans taking up spots for young and hungry players.

I think 26-27 they will want Mika panarin and Kreider off the books. Will have plenty of cap to play with

I’d like to see Othmann back up with the big club. Maybe call up Groulx also and see what he has. This team needs a spark. Having only 2 lines that can score is a major problem and it’s caused by Lavy putting Mika on the wing. 3 legit centers are more dangerous than 2 stacked lines.

Next year I think Roobroeck could replace Edstrom on the 4th line and Edstrom move into the middle 6.

Roobroeck is a center. And Edstrom is having success on the wing. I think it's much more likely they will leave Roobroeck alone until he can play in the middle at the NHL level.

Edstrom was drafted as a center and played center in Hartford also. Roobroeck could move to wing.

If you move that many players, you definitely will not be contending for at least 2 years. That's almost a full roster turn over.

Certainly. But, I thought Roobroeck is supposed to have a higher ceiling, isnt he? That is what I based that idea on.

Yes, but I don’t think more than a 3rd liner. I think he eventually could be an ideal 3rd line center, MAYBE 2nd line if he really developed. I’d just get him up here for a few games if we fell out of it just to get him the experience, see what the NHL really is. His numbers vs Rempe arent even close (Roobroeck much better numbers) but obviously we know what Rempe is at this point.

Apparently, Lavi reads my posts in here because in the third period he started to double shift the 3C and the results were good except for the fact thatwe didn’t score, but we certainly dominated territorially

Panarin with money retained should be on the table to maximize the return.
