It's amazing what happens when you commit to forechecking. Defense creates offense, pressure creates turnovers and scoring opportunities. Lafreniere needs to get his straight during the break, because right now, he honestly should have been benched last night and tonight.

I've always felt like this is one of the curses of NYC. It has to be more difficult there than anywhere else for a young man to sign a multi-million dollar contract and remain focused on training and improving.
All of a sudden, you have the means to do anything in a city that has everything.
Not an excuse! But, a possible reason.

Let's be (frank).
Our players, despite not having the commitment we are looking for, are not going to throw games. We have a reasonable chance of making the playoffs at this point. Sure it would be best for the future if we lost the rest of our games, but that is only from the outside looking in.
We are not going to win the Stanley Cup. But, it might be fun to watch a couple weeks of passionate play as spoilers if we do manage to sneak in! I'm prepared to just tune in and take each game as they come.
