Didn’t watch the game but from what I’ve read online, Pouty had a decent game. Good on him. Hope he keeps it going and gets on a role for a playoff push when he gets back.

Just because Makita said he had a decent game, doesn't mean that he did.

Great game last night. Sweden seemed like they were asleep in the first period until they realized.."this ain't no all star game"...they then woke up and carried the second period. Good third period too. Fun game to watch!

Jon Cooper just announced Shea Theodore is done for the tournament.

Regardless of the incessant trolling/complaining, he didn't stand out too strongly in a good or bad way. Did his usual thing of breaking up some offensive plays with strong defence, made some good passes, fanned on a key chance in OT.

The OT thing just shows where he's at. Big moment game of his stick and gets nothing. Meanwhile Crosby is still just smarter and better than everyone on the other side and steps up yet again

The bar has been set pretty low lately.

See if you can guess who this player is.

Canucks drafted this player in the top 10. He did not meet team expectations in the last year. He is good defensively in his own zone. Decent on puck battles. In the month of January he had around 5 points. He usually gets a SOG about every three games. He usually gets a point around every five games. He has one assist in the month of February.

The player I am inquiring about, is it EP40 or Vasily Podkolzin, or both?

I was just saying to my buddy I feel comfortable saying Gretzky Orr Crosby and if someone wanted to argue Crosby is the best ever I've got time to at least debate it

Petey sure has a long way to go to play like mackinnon my god.

If you ask Gretz he says Sid is the best. He is sort of correct when he says players back then were nowhere near the condition of players of today.

OV pulling off the numbers that he has reached in todays game has to also give him consideration.

In the words of George Castanza "it's about nothing". This tournament is about nothing. It's a money grabber. They don't even have all the top countries.

God Damn man Petey supporters are as soft as the team. Kman had a great post today about it is a gang mentality in here. Has been for years. You say one thing you don't like about the team and bam a regular group of posters are all over this crap.

You can also thank only having 15 regulars in here for this exact reason. If someone says something the gang does not agree they are all over this person.

I could not care less if you like that sponge or not but I do take offense when someone tells me to stop posting something because it doesn't fit your liking.

VHG had a good post on the other blog the other day calling these Canuck threads a man cave for a group of you.

You don' t like what I say or or someone else says then scroll past if it is not breaking the rules. I scroll past at least 50 posts a day in here including most of yours.

This stuff about counting NH 70 posts is ridiculous. I scroll past most of his stuff not because I am annoyed with him, but because I have no interest in what he is talking about but I don't complain.

IMO Petey is no where near worth his contract. He has 34 points and is slow and shoots the puck about every third game. If I want to b1th about him I will. If I get banned for saying he is a huge mistake then you will have 14 people to gang up on instead of 15. I don't really care.

Cannot say I care one way or the other for the tourney. Now if they dumped the ASG for this & expanding to say 6 teams.

Canada
USA
Sweden
Finland
Russia
Best of the rest
- Draisaitl & the young guns

2 divisions round robin
3rd place is out
2 semi final games onto the Final

Even in add in some double header stadium games. Or all outdoors even if the logistics could work. Make it a true spectacle in all ways possible.

- Nighthawk

On the broadcast they said next year is Olympics , then after that they are going with a minimum 8 team mid season world cup of hockey.

Sweden woke up when Canada went to 5 d , and on the broadcast they showed a couple clips of the D making errors in play as guys are caught off their regular side and pairings .

Just like on Sesame Street, "One of these things is not like the other"...

EP40 had multiple years of PPG play, Podz never had even one, expectations are different. Is EP40 playing up to those expectations? No, but the hate is starting to get stupid, in 2 years his contract will be in line with what most 2nd line centers make (mostly because Bedard, Fantilli et. al will be asking for 15+ mil a year and get it). You can get on him for this year, but I think even his most ardent of supporters would turn on him if he pulled this next year.

Are you telling me that in two years players scoring 45 points are going to be paid 11.6 mil?

End of discussion.

You expect Pettersson to be scoring 45 points (12 less than what he's currently pacing for) in 2 years?

And for what it is worth this is the other type of hyperbole that I was talking about. You say something someone doesn't like and here comes your gang ready to defend the Princess to the end.

This is the part that soars over most of your heads. I told Darius end of discussion, and it would have been over in three comments combined. No more slander of EP. You feel it is your duty to come to his rescue so conversation continues again with more negative comments.

This is why this site needs a mute button. I can promise you, you would not have even seen this post if there was one.

What "gang" are you talking about? This is just you and me commenting back and forth. If you wanted the discussion to be over, you wouldn't have continued whining about Pettersson, instead you call him a 45 point scorer.

You don't get to decide you have the last say just because you don't want blowback on your comments
