They are still retaining on Hayes thru next year. - mickel25
I think he means who would we move next season that we need to retain on? If we moved both Laughton and Ristolainen. We dont really have anyone else to trade next season. You could move Poehling but at 1,9 mill I dont think retention is needed. If someone takes Deslaurier, Huge IF, he's making 1.75 mill so no retention there either.
The reality is, we dont got anyone else to move that we would need to retain on. The only guy we'd want to move out at this point is probably Couturier but he has a NMC so hes here unless he says otherwise.

Correct.
If he had a chance to leave to a perennial playoff team I think he would. He is unmovable IMO. |

Again, these rankings mean absolutely nothing to me. I'll give you an example. I went to the Beanpot championship game last night where BU beat BC 4-1. BC is the top team in the nation, BU is 8th in the nation. Combined the two teams have 25 kids already drafted by NHL teams and BC has Hagens who will be a top draft pick this year. Perreault played on a line with Leonard and scored the first goal of the game, and what turned out to be the only BC goal of the game. He was set up by a brilliant pass by Leonard. Leonard was far and away the best player on the ice in this game. He was bigger, stronger, faster and more skilled than any forward on the ice, and yet he was shut down by BU in the 2nd and 3rd periods. As Leonard goes, Perreault goes, as was the case with Leonard and Will Smith last season. Perreault goes to the right areas of the ice, as does Teddy Stiga, Hagens, Eiserman, etc, but does nothing on his own. Doesn't win battles, doesn't blow by players, does not demonstrate a killer release or shot. Perreault is a good player that needs some one to feed him the puck. Now, is that the description of the 9th best NHL prospect? Hardly! Ryan Leonard is 8th on this list, and that is a complete JOKE! Will Smith is in the NHL so he is not even a prospect any longer.
Now regarding Luchanko, he is playing on a bad team that recently traded away their only other player that could play with Luchanko, and yet Luchanko is projected to score more pts/game this year than last year. I'll take Luchanko ANY DAY of the week and twice on Sunday over Perreault!

And rightly so, Bonk is going to be a top 4 RHS defenseman in the NHL, while Perreault will be just another middling winger. |

The Room Jr™ has nothing to do with Perrault -- different draft years -- I notice how in your orange tinted screed you fail to mention anything about the player that is listed as the number two prospect; the one that ACTUALLY has something do do with The Room Jr™.
As a reminder you told us about how great JOB was going to be cause you w@tCh3d tH3 g@m3zzzz

Again, JOB got hurt and was never the same after that. That is how it goes more often than not when you rely on drafting players. These kids are 18 years old, a lot can happen on their development journey.
I didn't mention Buium because the conversation was about the Flyers picking Bonk over Perreault. Try to keep up, though I know its hard for you.
And yes, I'm a fan of the Flyers, a very informed fan, unlike you.

Leonard drafted by the Caps is going to be a thorn in the Flyers side for a long time to come. I guess we’ll get to see up close, as Perreault being on the Rags and both in our division.

BTW, the one Flyers prospect in the Beanpot game last night was Kaplan for BU. What can I say, he is wearing an 'A' this year for the team and was interviewed between the 2nd and 3rd periods, so he is definitely a leader on the team. However, doesn't play a heck of a lot of minutes and is primarily a checker. Not a good skater, no skill from what I can see. Kaplan is a room guy for sure, so you know Torts will love him. |

I posted it here a few times that Leonard was the best player at BC last year; better than Smith, Perreault and yes, better than Gauthier. I have little doubt Leonard will make the Caps next year, most likely out of camp, and will be a candidate for the Calder. Perreault might not make the Rangers out of camp, but really has nothing more to gain playing in college after this year, so we will see him at some point in the NHL. Still I would have drafted Michkov over Leonard, especially now since Michkov is here. |

Don't know about anything you said but I go to a lot of gulph storm games, and I definitely see why the Flyers were high on him.
I definitely feel he has a higher ceiling then what's projected out there |

Going to be honest here, I really like Leonard. At that present time, with the status of MM being over there with all the uncertainty, and the terrible situation the Flyers were in as far as centers, wouldn’t have minded if they took Leonard. I’m not knocking MM39 in any way, very glad he’s here and on board. But here we are, almost two years later, and on this board everyday, people still clamoring for centers like him. And more importantly so are the Flyers. |

Luchanko is going to be on the Flyers next year and is going to be their 2C by year's end. He is going to be a very good player. You can look at all the rankings you want, but nothing beats going to a game that you grew up playing and watching these players. |

I am fine with using all three slots. But retention isn't just used just for our players. We could help facilitate a deal using one of those slots as well.
Again not a big issue but I always like to have at least one slot available if at all possible.

Kaplan may not even be signed. He has underwhelmed. If he does he is years away if he ever makes it to the NHL.
As far as those draft list, do you think they watch more games than you? |

You have to take these with a grain of salt. These are opinions and not facts. None of these guys are developed and no one has a magic 8 ball to see who does. All this says is that they Think Biuim is the 2nd best prospect. That doesnt mean he will be. We wont have answers for about 10 years. Nolan Patrick was ranked #2, Pulijiarvi was ranked 4th, Yakapov ranked #1. These guys busted. Draft rankings are educated guesses. Provorov was a #1 Dman until he wasnt. |
