If I had included pre-season goals, then you would have a point.

Playing more playoff games and scoring more playoff goals only increases the value of the player, not the opposite.

Matthews scoring more goals in the regular season actually means less than what Hyman did last year considering he was within 1 game of winning a Stanley Cup and we all know what really matters is the Cup.

If I had to take one season output from a player, I would take the 54 goals and 16 playoff goals over the 69 regular season goals and the 1 playoff goal every single time.

Matthews has 20 goals this year, Hyman has 19. Both will make the playoffs regardless. Does anybody give a flying (frank) if they finish the year with 50, 60 or 70? Or are we going to care a lot more if they score 20 playoff goals?

I say very little about the Canucks because I don't really spend time thinking about them.

The Canucks won a close game 2-1 & the Leafs played a stinker on the last game of a west coast swing where they played 3 games in 5 nights (and won 2 of those 3 games).
