Rogan is just pathetic.

Fun fact : No human being has ever earned a billion dollars and no human being deserves a billion dollars. This includes every human who has ever walked the Earth, past or present.

Maybe, just maybe for whoever invented fire. Maybe, but probably not.

Another fun fact : most people who aren't math majors cannot properly frame in their minds just how big of a number one billion is, less yet multiple billions.

You can’t play a team as good as the Americans and expect McD and Nate to do super things to win games. There just aren’t any weak spots to exploit like you get in league games. And they’re playing weren’t able to use their speed to create space because they didn’t have anyone to dish it off to or crash the net for a rebound.

Americans really did check well but the Canadians really weren’t coming up the ice as a unit and when they had the zone we saw a lot of east/west passes.

Disappointing loss but there’s no reason to think these guys can’t up their game. Having Makar back will help. Too bad that Harley is the guy who has to go out. I thought he played well and I’d rather see him over Doughty

- Canada Cup

Not sure Doughty is the guy I would remove against a team like USA
Sure Makar would help, but the US is missing Q Hughes also.
The Americans played a fantastic defensive game. It looked like the Leafs games where you are wondering how that much talent can't even generate a clean scoring chance.

The difference was the goaltending. I don't agree with Cush. That "perfect shot" fom Larkin should not have been there and the first goal was very Leafy.

I will vote for the candidate in the next federal election who promises to:

1: Build a nuclear bomb, and develop delivery capabilities. Shouldn’t need to go more than 3000km’s

2: Develop elite goalies

3: Bans all Nazi symbolism and far-right propaganda

So you expect Binnington to literally pitch a shutout? That's an insane mode of thinking which doesn't surprise me one bit, just making note of the degree of delusion.

It's also unsurprising you would expect anything more or anything different from Hill. Binnington has not stolen games but he has made some big saves as well as let in questionable goals. But they left their best goalie at home. That was the big mistake. They knew it was a weakness and therefore you can't expect any of the goalies they selected to put up SOs to win games. That's a lazy, lame excuse when you have 5 of the top 10 point producers the past 10 seasons.

Hats off to Hagel / Bennett for attempting to fight the Tkachucks to start the game. But as admirable as it was, it's just another reminder that they were better off having Tom Wilson on this team. That's the guy you want at the opening face-off throwing fists (88 career fights) and going to war in a game like this (6'4, 220, more goals than the invisible Seth Jarvis). Cooper got to bring one too many pets and it hasn't paid off yet.

PP looked like Marc Savard was running it tonight. They got 2 chances, with that much fire power, they needed at least 1 PP goal.

One day hopefully, some of these Canadians will have Hellebuyck behind them in a different, more united capacity.

Canada should consider itself lucky the best American athletes can't skate. Despite having probably their 3rd or 4th tier athletes to mold into hockey players, USA Hockey's investment has paid off and they're reaping the rewards of it now.

Canada winning isn't a foregone conclusion. Hell, making the final is going to be a struggle. If USA takes the game off against Sweden, nothing is guaranteed for Canada anymore especially in one game elimination situations.

Good point on Wilson!

This. 100% this.

Zez is my brother from another mother on this. For a long time I've been using hungry ghosts as an example of gluttony of all things - food, sex, power, money, alcohol, drugs, and other addictive behaviors. I don't hear it often from other folks.

That game last night was INTENSE. Probably the fastest and most intensity I've seen in a game ever.... or at least in recent memory. And that includes SCF games.

Canada didn't back down, but they also didn't have an answer for that kind of physical game where the refs put the whistles away.

It looked like the clutch and grab era all over again. Both sides were getting away with it, but it really took away one of Canada's biggest threats - the PP. If that game was called by the letter of the rules, both sides would have gotten 10 power plays.

It's amazing that nobody got hurt last night (that we know of).

I agree. If we're learning anything it's that elite offense can be cancelled out by dedicated skilled defence. Teams have done it to the Leafs and both teams did it to each other last night.

It's just too easy for good teams to erase the high skill stuff and push it into the margins where a chippy goal will probably win it ....and your goalie just can't let in a bad one. Binnington was good ..but that one (and our inability to get a similar one against Helly) was the difference.

They can have that tight one ....we'll take the next one on Thursday.

I wanted one of those bombs to land so bad.

And credit SB and Hagel for matching up and collecting some draws against the Tkachooks. No physical advantage either way.

You don’t agree with me?? I’m going to rage post now!!! 🤣🤣🤣 just kidding but even the broadcasters said it was a perfect shot and most if not all goalies will tell you the same. Low blocker just over the pad is the hardest shot to stop for a goalie.

We agree the first goal was 🤮 but Binner also made a couple / 3 saves that were seemingly sure goals. Going into a best on best tourney and expecting your goalie to get a shutout so you can win is gong to fail 99% of the time.

I fully agree the feeling of it being a Leafy game loss when the offense just couldn’t get it going was definitely there.

Canada could beat the US, I mean it was 2-1 essentially - I see the real ? As (if Canada makes the finals because Finland is no push over) is can the US do the same thing to Canada 2 games in a row.

I hope we get to find out because that was a great game.

Sorry you agree with the definition of Marxism.

It's not an emotional response. It's just a statement of fact.
