the habs fan like to boo all Leafs players

I used to love Booing Alfie, even though I respected the hell out of him, and thought the broken stick throw was the funniest isht I ever saw in a hockey game.

Intensity fine but they don’t need to and can’t just play the American game. Defend and counterattack. Scoring will come off the rush. Make them pay with the PP

Agreed. I don't want them to get sucked into the Tkachuk game.

We have Mackinnon, McDavid etc. FFS. They are capable of exerting, you know, a little influence on the game with their own skillset.

The only thing I didn't like was him firing the puck at another player.

and the crusty the clown look.

US will come out flying tonight with physical presence and Canada has to match intensity if they want to play in final.

I know what you're saying but I look at that Canadian lineup and see just as many guys that like to finish checks and get messy. Our bottom two lines are full of hitters, MacKinnon and Crosby aren't going to get pushed around, McDavid will drag Marner into the fight, and our blue line ..Doughty, Parayko, Morrissey, Makar. ...lots of gritty grit.

And Binnington will chop any Tkachuk who goes in the crease in half.

I'm guessing McDavid gets Matthews most of the night. I'd put the MacKinnon-Crosby-Stone line out against the Tkachuks and Jorts all night. They won't get pushed around. But I'm thinking Cooper may put the TB line out against the Tkachuks.

Some great matchups. I'm expecting the first 10 minutes is big hitting can't miss hockey.

My only hope nobody will be injured, especially #34.

I’m a bit curious as to why Scheifele isn’t on this team.

I don’t want to get ahead of myself here, but if Canada can win tonight in regulation, the USA-Sweden game will be must-see TV.

I was told (so take it with a huge grain of salt) that they asked him to be a sub in case of injury, and he politely told them to go frank themselves.

It's a nice opportunity to see (and compare) all these elites in game that clearly means a lot. Who can step up and dominate or at least assert their will?

I imagine a few guys probably said the same thing. Two weeks in Cabo with friends and family or do you want to be "on call" and have to miss out on whatever fun you might have in the hopes that someone gets hurt.

My big takeaway from game #1 was every player was saying they couldn’t believe how fast the game was.

Yes, I think both team will give all they have tonight, even though this game does not mean a lot. The animosity between two Countries could add some gasoline to the fire.

Well that’s just crazy.

If he went to Montreal and Boston as a sub, he’d get his hotel paid for!

But why not on the team ahead of Jarvis or Konecny?

If you are forcing me to guess, Konecny because he is a winger, and Jarvis because he kills penalties.

But it’s still weak sauce.

Really we don’t know what’s going on with the politics. Most of what you hear on MSM you can’t believe. So we really don’t know what’s going on. Wait a few months and you will get a better idea what’s going on. Forget about all the noise with Trump as a Canadian and get a handle on how extremely screwed up Canada is. I think the corruption here is off the carts.

It seems like the world is taking a giant step to the right. Maybe the left should try to figure out why that is.

Yes and US started hard political and cultural reset, which looks like nothing less than revolution and naturally they want it will be spreading over Canada and EU.
The yesterday's speech of JD Vance in Munich makes it pretty clear.
So far the left, it seems, doubles down on policies, which helped Trump to win big.

Absolutely.
This is the pendulum starting to swing the other way.
