Oh man, this my favorite game of all times. I watched it live then and it was nothing less than fantastic. Especially because it was NYE. In CCCP you had 15 days off to celebrate, 7 days drinking non stop and 7 days for recovery.

Habs were great and better team, Soviets were lucky to get away with 3 - 3 at the end.

It was like some wild animals were allowed out of the cage.
We had no fights in hockey then and it was shock to say the least.
Our commentator was repeating again and again: "We don't need such hockey"

Binnington had a great game and is the best puck handling goalie in this tourney by far.

Thursday will be a great game.
