[quote=alex.TML]Yeah, #20 was great. It was 4 very capable goalies at this time, Mushkin, Zinger and earlier Konovalenko.
Kharlamov #17 was real star in 1972 series, too bad he died in very young age.
Clark broke his leg to stop him.
My team was Spartak Moscow, we had Zimin - Shadrin - Yakushev on this USSR team in 1972. Good memories.
Tretyak was good friend with #99, I saw the video when Gretsky come to Moscow to visit him. They were drinking Stolichnoya of

Tretiak’s performance on NYE 1975 is the most memorable goaltending in my life

You aren’t allowed to say this as a Canadian, but Clarke’s slashing of Kharlamov was a complete chickenpoop move.

Clarke was like that his entire career.

The game means nothing - easy choice to sit him.

My dad and oldest brother went to the game in Toronto.

My dad’s friend gave him the tix at the start of the summer - he “didn’t want to have to drive down from the cottage just to see Team Canada destroy those Russkies.”

I've never liked that that play is held up as a shining example of hard-nosed Canadian hockey by some people. It was a bullsh1t, dirty play, nothing more.

Was too young to remember that but hated it a few years later when I read it.

Hated the Flyers. I don’t find it tough when 2-3 guys jump one. Or when a tough guy like Mel Bridgman pumps a guy like Salming for no reason

I seem to be the minority on this but he looked good to me since his last return.

He has looked better - much better - but his shot has looked off of late to me, and the stats sort of show that he's just not scoring:

It's not awful. In those 6 games that he hasn't scored, he has 7 assists - considering that he had 6 assists in the 10 games prior to his goalless drought, to me it suggests that he's changing what he's doing to favour playmaking over shooting. So he's out there doing what he can to make a difference - but when Auston is healthy and scoring this is a .600+ team. When he's not . . . they're not.

I had a bad feeling about guys masking injuries and playing through them just to glorify their flag. I hope Matthews didn't prolong his gimpiness by being hard headed like Sid.

On the Up side, both Tka(up)chuks are banged up.

Can they use computers to make an NHL video game with the play by play voice Bob Cole, and you could choose your broadcast team. Like you could have Ferrraro do the bench and Jim Ralph on colour. I would pay premium for a game such as this.

I like it.

On the other hand, they can't even bother porting NHL games to PC anymore so I wouldn't get my hopes up.

It would be hilarious if they did one Leafs game where you had options - I’m assuming 99% of Leafs fans would choose to to have to listen to Simpson.
