I've never liked that that play is held up as a shining example of hard-nosed Canadian hockey by some people. It was a bullsh1t, dirty play, nothing more.

Was too young to remember that but hated it a few years later when I read it.

Hated the Flyers. I don’t find it tough when 2-3 guys jump one. Or when a tough guy like Mel Bridgman pumps a guy like Salming for no reason

In those 6 games that he hasn't scored, he has 7 assists - considering that he had 6 assists in the 10 games prior to his goalless drought, to me it suggests that he's changing what he's doing to favour playmaking over shooting. So he's out there doing what he can to make a difference - but when Auston is healthy and scoring this is a .600+ team. When he's not . . . they're not.
