I saw the headline and took it at face value.
I just skimmed through it and it doesn't even mention who they have available to plug in. Just talks about the possible opportunity for Hughes.

What they said surrounding Canada and Harley was that they could bring in the extra dman if and when they only had 5 healthy on the roster.
I guess that was situational. No reason it should be restricted to the same position that is unavailable.

Yeah I think we are saying the same thing. Each team had 7 defensemen on the roster, so losing two would drop below 6 healthy. (And losing two forwards would drop below 12 healthy).
