They really looked like a team that ran out of gas before the break.

Maybe Kent Hughes doesn't trade our boys for a few more 2nd rounders and hopes the team keeps playing significant games until the end.... but that would be very different from the decisions he's made about handling assets.

Also, Owen Beck is already a NHL player. Always liked him.

we could expect them to go on another run like they did in December yes, now that they are well rested. but for how long before they run out of gas again? maybe a month? so 10-12 games? that won't be enough to make the playoffs, but that would be enough to be in the mix till the end, or close to it.

Oh I'm still 100% on board with trading Evans. We have young players that will be as good as or better than him sooner than later.

I've said it in the blog, I think Armia is the most difficult to replace out there and would be the only one I'd consider keeping.

And as much as I've been patient with Dach, I must say I had a thought yesterday about how little we missed him during the game.

Yes, remains to see in what role but it's clear that he can be a utility player already.

I agree, they had nothing left in the tank. Quick pitstop but the question is how much fuel did they have time to put in. 10 wins followed by 10 losses doesn't get you anywhere but the illusion of a playoff drive can stop you from getting assets at the TDL and I don't think it should.
