yes! making sure you liked the order of the songs and all.

i once made a bunch of mix CD (CDs by then) called "songs to crash your car to" because they were songs that made you drive fast (iirc, 9 cult songs and mother by danzig at the very end). i gave them to my friends and they all loved it. nobody actually crashed their car, which was nice.

Yeah, I grew up listening to 8-track cassettes - mostly old country like Eddie Arnold, Charlie Pride, Roger Miller and the like.

We also had the Grease sountrack and something called Goofy Greats (and another similar one) with songs like "Monster Mash" and "Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie (Polka Dot Bikini)" and "The Name Game" - those crazy 60s/70s pop songs.
