I think it depends on what team needs his skill set the most, it will have to be at least a b level prospect.. |

Might as well keep him if they are still in the god damn mix. The word on the street is that they could get a first round pick, if they trade Armia and Evans to the same team. That, they would have to think about it.
Or a much better prospect, if you will |

I’m not opposed to that either.
Both replaceable imo.. |

Still think it is more likely they do something to help other teams facilitate a trade, rather than actually doing anything significant.
The Devo / Savard / Armia / Evans talk is not really a significant deal.
Off season, at/just before the draft, something big will happen. |

Nothing should top Demidov coming over with mtl next season, but we will see. The draft should be interesting with two first round picks. Me think they will try to draft sooner in the first round.
Maybe Dach getting injured once again will move things a little. Forgot about him, but Reinbacher should start next season in mtl, if not before that. |

Hugo Brossoit: Sell the old, Make room for the new - Hugo Brossoit
how far the canadiens blog has fallen. great job hugo. hockeybuzz has clearly become a habs outoutpost. the siberia of habs info.
so, what does the canadiens braintrust do from here?
first line: check!
second line? newhook, laine, demidov?
third line? beck, gallagher. anderson?
fourth line? YBD
Possibilities" trade for a 2nd line centre. eg. byron bynum. where does kirby dach fit? imo not a centre.
lots of questions but not many answers yet.

michael hage should be on that team sooner than later, but he might start in Laval next season. Heineman will be on the 4th or 3rd.
Agree on Dach, but I guess they are stuck with that contract either way
They can either trade for or throw some money (UFA) at a C this summer.
Or once again, the anwser will be Demidov down the road cause he has played as a C before.

With Dach injured again, the centre line is quite a question mark going into next season. I feel the Habs don't have much of a choice but to sign Evans. Anything north of 4.5 is too much, no matter the length of the contract (4.5 for 3 years I could accept) and anything above 5 is too long, no matter the price tag (5 years at 3.25 I could accept too). I really think a 4x4 front-loaded contract should get it done. We can't have a repeat of the summer of 2021... |

If signing Jake Evans is a must for this franchise, there’s much bigger problems.. |

Lebrun keeps saying Hughes and Evans are far apart. Dont think they can close that gap.
Beck can replace Evans. Evans is not Danault. Far from it. He remains a 4th line centre, maybe a 4th line centre de luxe, but still.
Fixing that 2nd line and finding a 2nd line C should be Hughes goal, but Dach was never that guy to begin with, so... |

There are
But I get where he is coming from, what will our centre line look like next season after Suzuki?
1st line suzuki, 4th line Beck. Ok, what else?
Maybe Newhook will play as the third line C, but dont you see the problem overall? |
