One of them has to go. It's silly. If Demko can't stay healthy enough and they need a 1b just in case, move Demko.

I guess they could move Lanky later but Demko is such a question mark... wtf.

Not really, wouldn’t be surprised if they run with both at all.

More excuses 😍
- CanuckDon

I saw a tweet today that mentioned there are things going on behind the scenes with Petey hurting his mental that if they come to light will make a lot of people look stupid. Similar to when we found out about Boeser's dad.

Injured & TDL is coming fast. Doubt they consider trading him. I expect hardball negotiations on his next deal or let him walk. Imo extension talks are not a priority this summer. PA needs to see Demko healthy for a change to consider longer than a 2-3 year deal. Demko was drafted & groomed here & that should play into a bit. He should bet on himself & play out next season. If both sides cannot find a middle ground then he’s a trade chip for the next TDL. He is elite but too many red flags.

It’s for sure the more likely scenario, no need to sell low on someone as good as Demko. Wait and try to get his value up at the very least.

What is the source of the tweet? Odd that the Canucks would constantly criticize him in the media if he has valid excuses

He got scammed on a real estate deal in Sweden. Miller made him do it.

Taken from an article at Canucks Army

After some massive moves already taking place with the organization this month, another key Canuck has landed on Friday’s edition of DailyFaceoff’s trade targets board, with alternate captain Brock Boeser landing at number 15.
Compiled by insider Frank Seravalli, the list “always seeks to blend a player’s prominence with his likelihood of a trade.” Joining Boeser on the top 30 list is Vancouver defenceman Carson Soucy at #10, and Elias Pettersson, a recurring character in the ranking who has now climbed to #6.

I think they should trade both, losing Quinn would hurt but they are soft and small, they won’t make it through 4 rounds of playoffs.

Open question: what would you offer Sam Bennett if you’re GM JR? Would you be willing to overpay a bit?

I like Bennett. Tough Q to answer cuz I see other moving parts going out maybe but solely on status quo 5/7.5m age to 33 max for me but he gets 1 extra year.

Could be ugly tonight for the Canucks with both Hughes and Pettersson out. Jack Eichel was the best player in the 4 Nations IMO, they could steamroll the Nuckers if Lankinen doesn't stand on his head.

I would keep Quinn and build around him. Pettersson is neither here/there now it appears. #Canadian Boys...

Doing a quick calculation, it appears that the Canucks will have less than 10 million available for next season. Those numbers do not include what Boeser may sign for, if they choose to re-sign him.
There are at least 4 forwards and 2 positions on defense that need too be filled.

Like Lefty has said, several times, overpaying a player or 2, doesn't cause cap issues, when you are trying to get better.

It’s too bad that after a long break the Canucks return to action missing their top 3 players in QH, Demko and EP40. It is another challenge against a top team they have to find a way to over come.

Maybe by the game against the Kings this team will finally be healthy again. Well not Demko I guess
