Vancouver and it's love affair with back-up goalies.

One of them has to go. It's silly. If Demko can't stay healthy enough and they need a 1b just in case, move Demko.

I guess they could move Lanky later but Demko is such a question mark... wtf.

Yeah right, what team needs backup goalies, just go with an EBUG don’t see an issue with that.

Canucks on a big five game road trip, Vegas, Utah, LA, Anaheim, Seattle. Important to keep up the momentum they had going for them before the break.

Then a big homestand, seven of eight games at home, a quick trip to Calgary being the only away game. Going to be interesting to see if Allvin makes any more moves to help improve the team.

6-1-1 going into the lame break. Hope they can keep it going.

Luongo and Markstrom were chokers and Demko can't stay healthy.

What are they supposed to do? lol

Lankinen has played well.

I see Wayner getting a lot of hate on social media today. There's even a petition in Edmonton to change 'Wayne Gretzky Drive' to a different name.

I've never seen Canadians so fired up.

So many butt-hurt crying liberals up there, it's comical from the outside looking in. Deranged Trump syndrome. Wayner didn't act Canadian enough for them so it's time to cancel him.

Demko needs to have a good year next year or he's not going to cash in. He's really only had two good years and he's 29 years old.

RATINGS: ESPN averaged 9.252 million viewers for Thursday’s Canada–United States Four Nations Championship game.

It is the most-watched non-Olympic hockey game on record in the United States.

Across the United States and Canada, last night’s game drew 16.1 million viewers, nearly matching last year’s Stanley Cup Final Game 7 viewership (16.3M).

I wonder if they would try to re-sign him this offseason to basically the same money. Give him some money security and they gamble on him regaining his form.

Most of the hate is coming out of Alberta, not known for being a liberal hotbed.

False, it's all over the country, I've been reading X. Ontario is crying because he's not representing them well, being from there. The Canadian corridor, Quebec City to Windsor Ontario, where approximately 20 million Canadians live, and is truly Canada, the rest of the place just works to serve that area and the people in it, are screaming for his head.

Both NYN and Bloated brought politics into the main thread today, I'm just responding to their posts.

It'll die down soon, the 4Nations is over and we start normal hockey up tomorrow.

It's very interesting, but you have to assume they think they will need him to play more than your avaerage back-up given how much we now have tied up in goaltending going forward.

I just read Lankinen 5 years 4.5m aav
- Retinalz

Just heard it now. I like it even the term to keep the cap AAV lower. Tells me Silovs & others not close to ready & insurance if Demko traded or injury prone concerns.

Nothing worth trading him for. Hold him, let him rehab over the summer, see how he plays next year. Either sign him at a decreased rate/term, or trade him next TDL. Running with Silovs as the backup for a long stretch isn't inspiring.
- NewYorkNuck

Long game is he’s 1B til fully healthy & keeps his next contract lower. Nice having a Finn in the line-up. Finland produces some high end talent for a underdog small country.

For sure currently 9.5m in net 2025/26. Cap rising that is fine. Flexibility also.

A 🇨🇦 who affiliates himself with US politics earns what comes his way. The irony is Alberta has allowed American invasiveness & is now crying about it. Imo complacency has gotten a kick in ass & we can hope it galvanizes 🇨🇦’s to be more independent as much as possible. High time 🇨🇦 & its true allies work more together & get on with fostering new & better trade relations & prosperity.
