I think Petey has two main problems that are having fans turn on him. One is obviously pay vs production and the other which is becoming more and more prevalent is he just seems like an absolute bumhole. No wonder he and JT didn't get along. - Jkuzzi
Production definitely & his shlt don’t stink is very apparent. |

Drance wrote about it, not really a demotion, more of a balancing: - NewYorkNuck
I disagree I heard from the barber of Spuzzum that his nephew’s connections in the concessions said EP made Boeser look faster & him look slower. So had to call it ‘balancing’ the lines as a cover up |

Right. And Tocchet should have left him there instead it was doghouse after doghouse. RT totally derailed Hogs career especially after coming of a 25 goal even strength season. All he needed was TOI in the top 6 and a position/linemates to succeed. Just disappointing is all. - LordHumungous
Hog wasn’t given enough opportunity in the Top 6. Miller could only have 2 wingers at any given time. Had to spread the wealth around with Debrusk etc. |

Not my proposal, but to play devil's advocate...
Carolina does not feel they can re-sign Rantanen and want to recoup some assets and see Tuch as a valuable player that can play under Brindamour.
or the Brocks for a playoff run.

The better question is why would the Canucks? Honestly silly season is upon us.
I can understand your angst. Canes have a bad fit in Rantanen and will lose him for nothing. Where as Canucks have a struggling player who has time to figure it out. More like off season training adjustments needed to really fix things. |

I’d like me a big beasty PF Finn. Could he be in a funk outta the blue or Carolina just isn’t sexy? Seems well known he want’s the elite money & Canes are known to be cheap grinders. I lean towards Canes cave or he walks if not traded. |

big ol nope on both of these. Even if they don't think they can get Rantanen signed, at this point you're just going to hold onto him for the playoffs unless somebody sends you an offer you can't refuse.

Canes offered him $13.5 x 8 years and he hasn't said yes or no yet. |

It’s fine. I see him on a better fit line with EP40. It’s just next season when he walks from the Canes. |

Why?
Very simple one is a stud in anyones books. Huge can skate snipe & pass & has a cup. 28 9 seasons has it figured out.
The other is 26 in his 7th season needs to figure it out? Cannot carry MR’s jock strap. |

Sounds like a real offer Q is why the hold up? I don’t buy it it’s shock from moved from the Av’s nor it’s a whirl wind & needs time. That is more getting the media to back off. My guess is he isn’t convinced the Canes are for him for 8yrs. He is in no rush or pressure to sign. |

I’ve said go for Marner & now Rantanen. Need a big fish not a minnow. Move out one elite contract for an elite player is the latest tires worth kicking if not already done. |

What a confusing hockey team.
Cheap (frank)s for years and now a massive desperation over pay? They better hope he turns them down. He ain’t sh!t without Mac |

I mean taking way too long to make a decision was what got hi traded from Colorado in the first place so him taking his time here probably isn't super surprising. |

IMO opinion that’s garbage return for a top10 forward, would you be happy with Tuch and a 2nd for EP40? I’m sure a couple of the lemons on here would be, but that’s bad return imo. They paid a premium. |
