So, what did I miss?
Was having a rough day yesterday, so I stayed offline and went touch grass (and smoked some).
Holmberg > Matthews
Boston choking on infected Richards is always a mood booster.
Vasilevskiy is back to form. That's bad news for every other team.
Marner is the Alpha and Omega.
Is Drexel still AWOL?
I need to order a Leafs shirt or jersey to properly represent to the hillbillies down here.
Bring on Jenner and the trades.... - GalacticStone
Sorry you had a poop day. Next time just come and unload on everyone here. You won’t feel any better but you won’t be alone in feeling poopty.
Even sorrier to hear that Vasi isn’t sucking

Brayden Schenn is 33 and under contract until he's 36. I don't recall what his injury history is, but I'd also look hard at that before taking on that contract.
Schenn is older than JT and brings less offense for about the same money as JT's next expected contract. And some are balking at paying JT that, but are OK with Schenn?
None of this is intended as a knock on Schenn, just some poop that should be given serious consideration before giving up assets for him.

Better add Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, The Rolling Stones, and probably a pile of other artists to your list from the hedonistic 70s arena rock Perv Patrol. |

I don't want to be that guy any more. I'd rather only show up when I am an absolute delight. |

Yeah, feels like it would need cap retention to make it work, but we'd have to sweeten the deal with some our top prospects/picks. |

Schenn is just a new toy, not necessarily a rigth fit long term and cost may be too high. |

With a bit of salary retention he is an excellent fit.
He is fast, he can play at both ends of the ice well, he has a good shot, playoff experience, good fit with the coach, natural C, 50% on the dot.
With some retention he is the perfect fit. |

Full disclosure I had no idea B Schenn's contract was until 2027/2028 at 6.5M.
I like him a lot and think he could really help the Leafs but I would want him at 2M (1.5 min) less than 6.5 I think and no shot St. Louis is retaining 2M per year for that term unless Tre is giving up something really desirable and that scares me a bit.

1.5-2M is reasonable retention for trading for the back half of a contract.
He would be 5th in 5v5 scoring on the Leafs, 4 more than 6th place Knies. He comes in being your best 5v5 player after the big 4. |

Islanders fans don't like him because he sucks.
He has one good year scoring but is atrocious in his own end and when he isn't scoring he is a negative. |

He's a -8 this year but was +12 last year on a pretty m'eh Islanders team. I don't know what kind of minutes he gets or who they pair him up against etc. but those #'s don'ts scream "atrocious in his own end" to me.
He also had 3 seasons where he scored 10 or more goals and has 6 now.
He's only 25 (just turned 25 last month) and is in the final year of his contract so he's a rental that they could try and re-sign if he looks good and can be had for a few years on a fairly cheap deal.
I'd take a flyer on him.
Here are his career #'s.

Hell give me Dobson and Nelson for the playoff run - both on expiring deals anyhow so the price shouldn't be insane.

Also I think if Tanevs injury is any more than a 3 week recovery they are going to cheat and LTIR him before playoffs.

Go ask an Islanders fan. If you watch him he sucks and can not defend.
I don't care about plus minus
He will be overpaid and I want zero part of him. Let another team be dissipointed. |
