Robbie wants to stay.

"'I want to be here,' he said of playing in Toronto with the trade deadline approaching."

If he keeps playing like a teeny tiny piss missile, I'm all for it.

I'll show you playing with something tiny

It's amazing what ice-time can do for you.

That line has been good lately, but we'll see when they play against TB or FLA.

- gravyface

He had decent ice time earlier....just couldnt get anything done.
It seems like he finally broke through. Hope it continues.

In case you haven't noticed, this website is on life support. If it was in a Canadian hospital, it'd have been offered MAID several times already.

Banning the few people it has left can't possibly be a good strategy to keep it alive. Unless you want the same 5 people agreeing on everything from the Leafs to politics. I know that would make the left wing lock crowd cheer for joy to return them to their safe space of a censored echo chamber that is being shattered in the real world but it cuts the engagement from little to none really fast.

Sorry but everybody here is just going to have to be respectful of each other and moderate themselves regardless of the topic or any disagreements.

I think everyone can agree you are the only problem here.

There are people who don't mesh well but it happens. You have serious issues, you are like a virus for this site. Hopefully your account is eliminated soon.

The Athletic's article is insane... they were saying a top prospect (Cowan, Minten, Danford, etc.) a 2026 1st round pick, and probably Grebenkin for B. Schenn
- gravyface

They werent saying that. They were saying they would have to include one.

They wouldn't include Cowan thats for sure lol. 1st and Grebs maybe.

Schenn, if he were a rental I get it, you'd pay a 1st and prospect. But taking on his contract (6.5M) for age 34-36 years. ....that should bring the price down, no? Like maybe a lot.
- The Law

In the Leafs case this is not possible or a smart thing to do.

It would certainly be retained 1.5-2M. Possibly even more if they create a nice package.

It is possible to have a discussion forum that excludes politics and religion without completely killing the discourse. I've seen it work. But, it requires a dedicated moderation staff and some degree of buy-in from the membership.

Cloudy Nights (.com) is an astronomy and telescope gear forum that has over 200k members and over 13m posts spanning over 20 years and politics is never a problem there, even in the off-topic subforums.

Once people feel comfortable with the atmosphere, the lack of politics becomes a draw. I would become a paying member of this site out of appreciation, but I would never do that now the way things stand.

I would argue for every troll you ban, you probably gain a new member who would otherwise walk away after glimpsing the (frank)ery that is tolerated here.

There are plenty of places to talk about politics in an uncensored way. This shouldn't be one of those places, IMO. Or, alternately, dedicate one board to politics and only allow it there.

I really like Toropchenko from the Blues. No idea why he has been so bad this year but you know Brad would love his 6'6" frame.

What are you guys looking to add? Sandpaper? Strong D play at forward with strong PK skills? More offense? All expiring contracts unless the player has a low cap hit?

It used to be like that here. Politics would come up every once in a while if there was a major event (election, shooting etc) and you would have normal people on either side of a fence discussing their views....then it would dissolve after a few pages or a mod intervened if it got too heated. But back then, everyone on both sides agreed and knew that nazis, fascist and anyone who wanted to invade a country was bad. So people disagreed but had common ground.
Unfortunately now, you have wannabe fascists and political trolls in here just to post made up nonsense, stir up poop or whine about the government. Most dont have common ground with these people, except for other than wannabe fascist and other political trolls (about 3 or 4 people- one of which is most likely an alt of the other)
So now its impossible to have a discussion without some trash troll going overboard with nonsense. So ban it all. Lets get back to hockey talk, burgers and circle jerks!!!

Yup, I'm on a bunch of forums for various topics and politics have always been quickly shutdown with a zero-tolerance policy enforced by the mods.

Lawson Crouse's name has come up on MLHS, not sure the fit there though. LW, left shot.

I think with how this team is going to play in the playoffs they do need some size with skill in the bottom 6 for playoffs. Toropchenko and Greenway seem like targets.

And reports and with what Tre has said a C that is good enough to drive a 3rd line to help with matchups against top teams.

And yeah more D depth, not really picky there just give me someone better than Timmins.

Can't see that one with the contract and that franchise's unwillingness to trade him in the past. This would be the worst time to do it for them.

Probably the same stuff we've been looking for at the deadline for almost a decade.

Schenn brothers retained plus Toropchenko and maybe Greenway would be a great deadline.

I'm more in favour of better usage of our best players and then adding D at the deadline over more forwards.

Like, why can't we move Nylander to the 3rd line, Marner to the 2nd line, and let Berube push the big red button for the nuclear option of 16/34/88 whenever they're down a goal? All of those guys can drive their own lines, and if you push Nylander down to the 3rd, you could probably move Domi or McMann or Robertson up and have a balanced 4-line attack.

I get excited to see the funny parties that are on the ballot. Like one Fed election there was the Radical Marijuana Party. This was after it was already legal. I pissed myself laughing in the booth.

Also, sadly, when I vote in provincial elections there's like two people at the gym and it takes 5 seconds.
