I get excited to see the funny parties that are on the ballot. Like one Fed election there was the Radical Marijuana Party. This was after it was already legal. I pissed myself laughing in the booth.

Also, sadly, when I vote in provincial elections there's like two people at the gym and it takes 5 seconds.

I'm more in favour of better usage of our best players and then adding D at the deadline over more forwards.

Like, why can't we move Nylander to the 3rd line, Marner to the 2nd line, and let Berube push the big red button for the nuclear option of 16/34/88 whenever they're down a goal? All of those guys can drive their own lines, and if you push Nylander down to the 3rd, you could probably move Domi or McMann or Robertson up and have a balanced 4-line attack.

This team does not have enough at forward in a 7 game series against a top 5 team in the league...a top 5 team that is also going to add at forward.

Jarnkrok helps a little, but not nearly enough.

The best teams are going to get better, the Leafs need to as well and especially at forward.

Right now though, I think our D is our greatest weakness. We have Benoit and Timmins who are both struggling on the bottom pairing. We can't always shelter them either.

In a perfect world, we add a 3C and a D, but if I had to choose, I'd take D all day every day (and twice at Zezel's place).

They have a solid top 4. They will add D depth.

But with the way Berube wants them to play they absolutely need to improve at forward. Especially C, Domi won't cut it.

RIP Gene Hackman - such a great actor.

Odd that he, his wife and dog were all found dead in their home - perhaps something like carbon monoxide.

Yeah, he was 95 years old but his wife was only 69.... sounds like a tragic accident.

Why Marner can't transition to center has always boggled my mind... Marner 2C, Tavares 3C.

Kypreos is all in:

"This is where the Leafs need to step up — and fast.
With the Chicago Blackhawks jumping in to retain 50 per cent of Rantanen’s $9.25-million cap hit this season and the potential for Carolina or another team to do the same if he’s traded again, the Leafs could trade for an elite player and easily fit him in by having roughly $500K in cap space available.
That’s a rare opportunity offered by the salary-cap hockey gods."

That's such a fantasy 'trade' proposal and he doesn't even mention (so likely didn't even think about) what the cost to the Leafs would be.

I don't see Tre being able to get Rantanen without giving up more than many of us would be comfortable with, nor do I see Carolina being OK with trading him to the Leafs.

Making a winger into a centre rarely works.

Even many players that played the position in junior don't always play centre in the NHL. Look how many times they tried and failed with Nylander.

Leave Marner at wing, where he's a dominating player.

Thats why C's are a premium. Natural Cs anyways.

Go look on puck pedia or cap wages for C's. The list is pretty brutal compared to other positons.

What are you guys looking to add? Sandpaper? Strong D play at forward with strong PK skills? More offense? All expiring contracts unless the player has a low cap hit?

Schenn brothers retained plus Toropchenko and maybe Greenway would be a great deadline.
- Santo_44

Too much change imo...4 new players? Not a good recipe for success unless we have long term injuries.

I honestly feel like it will be one or two players. Tre is known for not making huge splashes....maybe this year is different with possible changes with shanny , marner, JT etc.

Dunno, we'll see.

Wtf?
Gene was a (frank)ing great actor.
But ya, it could be carbon monoxide if all were found dead with no signs of a crime taking place.

Its really not. Most of that is depth too.

Tre had 3 TDL adds in the opening playoff lineup last year.

I agree, topo would be depth but would still see time on 4th line....greenway could play some 3rd line as well but would see 4th line time.
B schenn would bounce someone down a line.
I still believe it will be 1-2 players....but 3 definitely isnt far fetched.

Will see.

I mean a legit C like Schenn would be good change, they don't have anyone for that 3C spot.

If Tre can have upgrades come in for Holmberg, Timmins, Robertson, ect he will do it.

I mean it is pretty obvious at this point Timmins can't be your 3RD in a healthy playoff lineup.

In case you haven't noticed, this website is on life support. If it was in a Canadian hospital, it'd have been offered MAID several times already.

Banning the few people it has left can't possibly be a good strategy to keep it alive. Unless you want the same 5 people agreeing on everything from the Leafs to politics. I know that would make the left wing lock crowd cheer for joy to return them to their safe space of a censored echo chamber that is being shattered in the real world but it cuts the engagement from little to none really fast.

Sorry but everybody here is just going to have to be respectful of each other and moderate themselves regardless of the topic or any disagreements.

That is exactly what this flaky tyrant tried to do, failed miserably and then quit.

Drove away many veteran posters. Hurt site numbers.

One of the two reasons the site is very tentative on new moderators.

It’s ironic how dense this guy is, crying like a little girl for mods, when he’s the reason there aren’t any.

Kipper said in his article he mentioned cowan, McMann and a 1st. But this morning on the radio said it would be Knies as he thinks the canes would need an impact player now for their run. Saying that their gm couldnt unload rant and not get someone that would immediately help them now.

I had mentioned this last week as well, i dont see the canes moving rant for picks and prospects unless the offers are really bad. The canes want to go on a playoff run, losing neces and rant for a 3rd liner (mcmann) and prospects is not gonna sit well team imo.

But we'll see
