No...just a fan...growing more disappointed each season.

This team is a roller coaster of emotions for sure. We did survive the "dark era"...soooo. Hope?

I use the same screen name. His post on this starts with him mentioning Lindgren for a 2026 2nd and mid tier prospect.

It's fine, I'm not one of the people to female dog and moan about it but there are plenty. With normal traffic it's about an hour to the game from where I live in Suffolk which is manageable. I have taken the train to the new station once but we saw the lines for the shuttles and said "(frank) it" and walked. Not a short walk but, again...manageable. Our season ticket parking is in the garage which is very easy and they apparently undersold (intentionally) this year to leave space for the retail village so it's pretty nice.

The walk from the emerald to the arena is daunting so I said hell to the no lol is the racetrack grand stand completely torn down now? I couldn’t figure out where it was in the dark lol but looks like nothing is there. I saw the renditions which look pretty cool for the racetrack/grandstand

Yeah the racetrack is just a pile of dirt at the moment. I wouldn't do the walk again, honestly. It really wasn't too bad.

We took an Uber home that night which is totally worth it. If you ever go that route, schedule it in advance if you're not in a rush to get somewhere. Leave plenty of time in case the game goes to OT (we scheduled it at the beginning of the 3rd for like 10:50pm). If it doesn't go to OT, go hang in the Belmont Hall bar downstairs to kill time. If you request a car when the game ends you get whacked with the surge pricing and will probably pay double. We paid like $60 to go from UBS to a bar in Islip.

That seems like wishful thinking for Lindgren but you never know

Anything is better than those days. What those days brought us, though, is the need for goaltending that we have been overpaying for what will be two-plus decades.

True...we do not know what NHL GM's will pay to get a player. Hell...we could get a 2nd rounder back for Smith with 50% retention.

It seems that we never can get the right balance. After the dark era, they developed a team with guts and heart, but not enough top end skill. Now they have a bunch of players with "top end" skill, but absolutely NO heart or testicular fortitude.
It's deflating at times.

Edmonton man. They need Lindgren and Smith. Didn’t they trade their first for Henrique? I think you could definitely get their first for both of them and retention(s)

Drury is slowly trying to make this his team and not a build off of Gorton's. He will have to continue that over free agency, but is slightly cap-strapped still and with no draft capital for trades and draft selections in the top-15 (or second round for that matter)...it will be at least one more season of this.

I agree with this. I have looked into how much this is Drury's team versus Gorton's. I've posted numerous comparisons amongst the Drury hate talk. And it is sad that it is taking this long for Drury to get out of Gorton's contracts. I kind of see what Drury's vision is, and I agree with it. I hope he can get there.

I’ve been cloned!! I agree 1000000% with both of you

People just need to be a bit more patient, and I get it. It’s difficult to ask them of that lol

I believe Krieder and Bread's are the only Gorton contracts remaining. Mika's deal is Drury's folly. Giving a NMC to a buyout-proof contract is a horrid idea. I cannot imagine any team wanting that even if Zib waives his NMC.

Yea. That one is a lost cause. MAYBE some sucker will bite. I am still hoping for a core identity change on this team.

I don’t see a problem at all with miller Trocheck zib 1-2-3 down the middle, especially with the cap lifts coming. I have a feeling this is the plan, and people will have to deal with it 😬

If you have one position that’s getting alot of money, center is it. Especially since we have no one in the pipeline to speak of that plays there. The devil you know is better than the one you don’t.

I don’t think there is anyway in hell Drury strong arms Zib like he did with Trouba and Goodrow. Zib could offer to waive which would be different

Only if they’re worth the money they’re being paid and mika is not anymore. You could allocate that $ in a far more efficient way if he was gone. But yea, having no real center prospects in the pipeline is scary. If I was Drury I’d be figuring out how to get a young center in the 21-24 age range, maybe ask Vancouver about that chytil guy?

🙄
The cap lifts off set it tho. Panarin is off the books soon too

It’s ingrained in your head how bad he’s been as 1C that you can’t bring yourself seeing him as a 3C, 2C. He freakin played defense last night he obviously much more appreciated, and valuable, then the zib haters club ever wanted him to be

And newsflash, he hasn’t been that bad recently. But again, it’s all we talk about..how zib is so bad it’s some crazy non starter that he’s still a Ranger

He’s definitely been better but not worth that money. You can get what he does for far less. And newsflash, the cap increases for all teams not just us. So it doesn’t really do what you think it’s doing

Who can you get that is on PP 1, PK 1, top 6/9 and plays center? For under 9 million bucks, and the cap going up where the players have waited forever to get theirs. That is a tough find

We truly do not need him on the pp. you get a 3c for half that and put a lot more money into a partner for Fox and you come out ahead

Adam Fox is going on injured reserve. He will be out for “a little bit,” I’m told, but the Rangers are confident he will be back for the stretch run of the season.
