Leafs have been playing poorly and winning games but they've consistently been shooting at empty nets all year. It's a strategy. If they score, the game is done. Winning FOs isn't a problem because the Leafs are usually good at winning them.

Leafs could just as easily try to "kill the clock" and have it back fire rather than just end the game with an ENG. It's clearly a coaching decision otherwise every single guy wouldn't be actively shooting for empty nets as often as they do.
