End of the 2nd period- Brandt Clarke for LA is playing as the 7th Dman- 6 shifts-4:35 ice time. Next lowest Kings Dman- 11 shfits. Not sure what is going on, but he just turned 22 and has 2 less points then Sanheim. Briere is going to have to do these type of deals to get better talent in the organization. Going to have to give up something of value to acquire and hopefully that player grows and gets better.

Problem is Flyers need to give up something that helps LA now. TK is the only one that comes to mind, maybe Tippett. Laughton and Risto are not enough. Sanheim needs to waive his NTC, Seeler isnt enough plus has NTC for 2 seasons. LA wouldnt be interested in anything else. Perhaps LA would move him if theres cap issues on a RFA deal. Dunno when hes an RFA.

Kings have scored less goals then the Flyers. Kopitar is 37 and Doughty is 35- time to win is now. They'll be looking for scoring punch, Bobby Brink not close to enough. Going to cost Tippett at least to get Clarke and probably LA would have to include a salary dump like Jeannot. Clarke is very much still considered #1 Dman potential.

Id do Tippett for Clarke in a heartbeat. A deal like that would either be bigger or involve a future move as the Flyers would need to make room on D.

Sanheim
York
Drysdale
Seeler
Risto
Zamula
Andrae
Clarke

Luchenko doing very well in the OHL 57th in the league despite playing just 34 games.

If he played 60 games at the same scoring pace he'd be at 84 points. That would be approx 9th in the OHL. Some variables to consider as not all players are at exactly 60 games but many around 50-60

I go back to what Jones and Shaw said recently about want to have more size on the blueline. I do not believe York, Andrae, and Drysdale will be long-term fits in the top 6. When Doughty came back from injury, Kevin Weekes speculated Clarke could be on his way out. Supposedly Briere spent a lot of time in Barrie when the Flyers were scouting prospects that year. Fletcher chose Tyson Foerster. I would also trade Tippett for Clarke.

Me too! I'd do anything to get rid of Tippett. I'd dump any of our D-men at any time to make room. We have a bunch of 2nd-3rd pair guys. I like them but all would be expendable if I were in charge.

I think Briere wants to trade Laughton and he wants to trade Risto but he’s just not getting the value of the offers that he wants so I’m very afraid that the Flyers are going to have a very quiet deadline and I think that’s devastating to the team

Agreed. The tell is water carriers in the media pumping up the Flyers as if they’re in a position of strength. CoGM is two years too late trading Laughton and they don’t learn from their mistakes so will do the same with Risto.

Very possible as the GM overvalues and overrates both players.

I agree, I think Briere is making the sane mistake Fletcher made with over valuing his own players. Briere can ask for whatever he wants but in the end he needs to take what he can get.

I really hope Briere does not make the same mistake Fletcher made with over valuing his players. he can ask for whatever he wants but at the end of the day he has to take what he can get. It’s about the future of the team not what the team is now.

Overvaluing is the Flyers way. Has been this way forever. The time to trade Laughts was two years ago.

Could be a really good night for the Flyers.

Jets should mop the floor with us while all teams below us have a shot at or are guaranteed a win.

Let me ask you this. What do you think Laughton is worth? A 2nd?
Whats he worth next season? If the Flyers can get a 2nd next season why wouldnt they push for a higher return now. Worst case they move hime next season for the same price they could have done earlier. Best case they get a better return.

There is no reason to rush a deal. I still believe Laughton will be moved before the deadline.

We’ll see. He has a week. The market is starting to form….a lot of contending teams have holes that need to be filled. There are 5-6 different guys I could see being moved.

I think Laughton is worth a late 1rst….or a decent prospect and a mid rnd pick….ive less players fetch more.

Crazy how Risto’s value has changed.
