With the cap increase, possibly not.

I was thinking the same thing, why would Sakic over pay for Lindgren or is it the Avs dont have much value in De Hann and Parssinen?

Well time will tell.

Lindgren with less mins per game will probably very solid. But a 2nd rounder is steep for that type of player.

Look what we’ve paid in the past. Deadline deals cost big time. Wennberg for a 2nd and 4th??? Copp for a 1st and 2nd?? Kane for 2nd 3rd and 4th???

But Lindgren isn’t worth a 2nd round pick? Come on …….

To be fair Detroit isn’t the franchise I would pick to mimic roster building from lol. What have they done in the last decade

Two of them are 22 and 23 years old, they have nothing to do with the last 10 years in DET.

Devils missed the playoffs last year. Went out and added :

Kovacevic 6’5 225
Dillon 6’4 225
Pesce 6’3 210

Already had:

Hamilton 6’6 230
Hughes 6’2 200
Seigenthaler 6’2 220

Now they’re 3rd in the metro

We will soon see what this trade has on the locker room, Im thinking Lindgren and Vessey were also well liked.

Brutal missed call by the officials ended that. Danforth should have been in the box for the high stick on Edvinsson, not celebrating the game winning goal

I think they were as well. But neither had a future here and requirement was to get what they could before the deadline passed. It's the nature of the beast

I don’t think Vesey had much influence, I could definitely see Lindgren though.

Well respected vet. Remade his career from a possible scoring wing to bottom six player. Able to move up and down the lineup. Parlayed a PTO into a one year deal and then an extension. I think he was a behind the scenes type leader

I never had any issue with Vesey, I respect a guy who does what he needs to do to stay in the game and take on the roles asked of him.

But the foundation of the team is changing, looks like the kids are finally getting their chance and they're doing well.

A lot of guys have become expendable or are no longer necessary. Started with Goodrow and basically hasn’t stopped.

Yes, no doubt their changes to D made them better. But it’s not the whole picture. Markstrom is significantly better than what they had in goal last year. Hughes was also hurt for about a quarter of the season.
