A lot of guys have become expendable or are no longer necessary. Started with Goodrow and basically hasn’t stopped. - Slimtj100
I honestly dont think Goodrow was expendable, the contract was an issue. Say what you want about the regular season, come playoff time, he was a beast. |

Yes, no doubt their changes to D made them better. But it’s not the whole picture. Markstrom is significantly better than what they had in goal last year. Hughes was also hurt for about a quarter of the season. - banger94
I look at Nj and I see a team that is underachieving this year. I thought they’d runway with the metro this year, kind of like Washington has. But they still scare the bejesus out of me |

The 4 nations gave me hope that Hughes will be like Panarin in the playoffs and disappear. He seems built for the regular season. |

Gentlemen…
What excites me is next season. This season I’m just hoping is the best way to say it. I think next season the Rangers start vying for cups. Drury has seen what they need and acted, and is changing the identity of the team. It’s going to take a bit and it ultimately may cost them this season. But imo, it will be be worth it. They needed to get bigger and harder to play against and that is the direction it’s heading with every thing they are doing. He’s picking up diamond in the rough kind of guys, and maybe something sticks.
Smith is next and then I’m not sure what else they do this year, you just have to embrace the transition season. Hope for the best. They need to let the kids play and really consider burning Perraults first year and get him on the roster. Play Othmann, Berard and Perrault in the the top 9 |

Brutal missed call by the officials ended that. Danforth should have been in the box for the high stick on Edvinsson, not celebrating the winning goal - airjan23
It's actually a problem with the NHL rule needing revision, since the refs didn't reverse the original non penalty call of high sticking by Danforth, leading to his semi break in & rebound attempt becoming the BJ's game winning goal.
ESPN's game employed former +/- 20 years' NHL ref in Dave Jackson stated the rule which applies here.
"If the referee doesn't blow the whistle for a penalty, even if a clear infraction occurred, and the non penalized team scores, the goal stands and no penalty is assessed."
He also added in some (though not exact) words, that the only way the penalty would have applied had been in this instance if the Wings player who was high sticked (Edvinsson), "would have also sustained an injury"; adding further the goal wouldn't have counted, & Danforth then being assessed a penalty.
The rule makes zero sense because any initially missed penalty call whether resulting in a goal scored or not by the offending team; can shortly later be called against that offending team upon discussion with one another if any saw the suspected penalty. |

We need some big defensemen more than anything. Even though Schneider Miller Borgen might all be above 6’2, none of them weight more than 215 lbs. |

Aaron Ekblad. Trade Adam Fox. No one wants to hear it 🤷🏻♂️
