GM’s are idiots

It’s an NHL wide problem. The old boys in the nhl just keep making the same mistakes over and over without consequences. And even when there is “new blood” brought in it’s usually just ex players that have been “trained” by the old guard. There is a fundamental problem with the way Pro sports works. But they make money and keep the same “hockey people” making tons of money so it won’t change.

Speculation, we don't know what the driver of his frustrations was, but it doesn't matter anymore. He's gone. It probably wasn't one specific thing, but a culmination of things.

As an American living in the very isolated Pacific Northwest coming from large American Eastern cities maybe he and his wife weren't happy there? He lived out in West Vancouver isolated from everyone else.

I hope he finds peace and happiness, and I hope the same for you one day.

Pettersson is hot garbage right now, he needs to be scratched and get his head right. He's clearly suffering from something mentally. You don't just forget how to play hockey in one year. Somethings wrong with him. And in a manly shutup and do your job old school NHL mentality, he's not going to get the help he needs.

I don't know why any GM would take a chance on him, but hopefully someone does. He needs to get out of Vancouver. It's a toxic franchise.

If we went full rebuild and he said he will not re-sign with us in a rebuild mode, this would be a decent option. I think some teams would beat it though. That said, NJD would make the trade in a heartbeat. 2 more years at 7.8 for Hughes, they also are not guaranteed to have cap for Hughes when all is said and done.

What need to happen IMO is a little sit down with Hughes and ask him how he would feel moving on from Boeser and Pettersson and give his input back to what he would need to succeed here. It isn't rocket surgery to get some of this sh!t done for him ans we sure don't want to lose him.

That is a pretty steep price for soon to be UFA Frederic, who is out injured week to week, and an AHL'er in Jones. Wanner is a big RH D late pick in 7th round that is developing in Bakersfield so see what happens. But getting STL's 2nd & a 4th on top of it, regardless of the salary retention, is pricey. Letting STL claim Holloway and Broberg is looking stupider all the time, looks good on a disgusting franchise.
Canucks need to SELL, SELL, SELL if this is the going rate.
