In an entirely believable move, Vegas signed some racist POS yesterday

Maybe he learned and grew from his mistake? I’m glad the Canucks didn’t sign him but this is also part of the reason Vegas wins cups and we don’t. They are ruthless and will do anything to improve. |

They did the press release at like 11:30pm to try and avoid backlash |

That stat is more of a baseball stat. It doesn't have much relevance in Hockey at all. Of coarse he gives up more chances against. Look at where he starts most of the time. You need to watch the games more and spreadsheets less. - Load Management
No, it isn’t. |

OK I'll rephrase. It's a pretty useless estimate in Hockey. |

WAR has zero value in hockey. It’s one nerd that keeps pushing it and all of his work and research is worthless |

I guess if you want to say something like whether player get more quality chances when a particular player is on the ice is "useless". But that's Driftwood IQ logic at best, simply objectively not true. |

It's referenced in hockey stories literallly every day. There's definetly a difference between not being educated enough to understand stats and them being useless. Every team in the NHL uses them, Tocchet talks about high danger chances all the time(which is one of the variables in WAR). |

I’m afraid you don’t know what you are talking about again. It’s wild that someone that spends so much time on a hockey site can literally not know anything about hockey. I’m not even mad, I’m impressed |

Do you have any ideas as to what
Boeser, Soucy, Suter, Forbert might fetch on the upcoming sellers market? |

It seems to me certain guys go for way above value every tdl, pretty hard to predict imo |

I suppose learning them from some online dude trumps the 3 stats courses I took in College and passed. You're correct on one thing, the difference in being educated enough to understand where things break down and become useless. Things like bias and loss within the qualitative and quantitative data collection for your algorithms. What is high danger to you? Because it's different for everyone. Who sets the standards for the baseline?
I'd rather watch the games and use tangible knowledge to predict.

I did my MA and setup databases myself, so we have that in common. It's pretty simple, high danger attempts are shots from the slot uncontested(simplified example). Its actually not that hard to quantify. [img][/img] |

Not in Hockey. In Baseball yes because it's a more linear sport. There's a boatload more variables to consider in Hockey. Some of which I touched on. But at this point I'm done messing with you. I'm not really into Math enough anymore to go any further. The stats that I sorta enjoy are far more practical to my personal knowledge. |

Watching the NYR vs NYI game, Miller and Zibanejad are playing really well together since they moved Z to the wing from center. That’s what Petey needs, be moved to the wing and play with a guy like Miller. |
