We need the GMs to make some moves so we have something to talk about to death all day - Aaron_85
These GMs are boring as (frank)
Too many dumb owners thinking their team that has a 18% chance at playoffs is going to make it |

I think the gate is too important down the stretch to some of those teams. Besides, those weak teams just get subsidized anyway so there's no real incentive for some owners to make a winner.
Lastly, I think Utah should push for a playoff spot. 2 points out and making the playoffs would be huge for a new location team.

To your point though, I think GMs hold out too often for too long on a player. Like Chicago could have held onto Jones until Friday and hope they got a better deal but my guess is too often GMs hold out and lose more in the trade.

In protest he should change his last name to Kachook or Smith. |

Yeah 100% or they get injured like Frederic.
I mean it takes one or 2 GMs holding out to hold up the market. I suspect with reports that Isles are about to sell it will pick up now.
But who knows with Lou. |

That's true!
On the other side, if we get more teams becoming sellers it could also move the market despite hold out GMs. Lou should sell for sure. There's like 3 teams not in the wild card spots that shouldn't sell. Everyone else should. 4 points isn't 4 points out. It's harder than that.
Also Boston doesn't need to make the playoffs to get people to watch. They can just sell off but most of their guys are meh. (which is enjoyable to watch)

Yeah I mean you look at the east and if you are not in a playoff spot you likely are not making playoffs.
And trading a depth piece or a B6 forward isn't going to slim your chances down by much, if anything.
Utah makes sense to not sell. Sens as well....but every other team not in a spot in both conferences should be selling to some degree.
If Lou doesn't have a fire sale he is dumb as (frank). |

Also Robertson and Holmberg have been really good.
Makes me wonder if they should be the ones getting the boot when the bring a few guys in...
To me Dewar is the easiest casualty out there. Then Kampf or Domi...Keep Robby and Holmberg. |

That too. NHL teams need to develop their own "home team song". It works so well in footy/soccer. |

Factor in salaries and I agree. Holmberg > Kampf ...and Robbie > Domi.
I think Robbie is probably part of the cost of getting better though. |
