Red wings opponents the rest of the way win % is about .600. So that could be helpful. I know ours isn’t great either tho. We have some toughies still to go

Meanwhile, I'm wondering if that one U.S.A. team on Smith's NTC list could be either Seattle or Buffalo, due to the amount of interest and trade talk Drury has likely had with both teams. Just five days following Buffalo's 8-2 rout of the Rangers, Drury had scouts present at the Sabres game in Carolina last Thursday. Furthermore, we know via this season's Kakko/Borgen deal his respected connection with Seattle, with the latest name rumored linked to the Rangers being CTR. Jared McCann, who has 2 more years remaining on his contract at a $5M annual cap hit.

One thing not mentioned a lot is that Rangers are only 6 points out of the third spot. Currently, Rangers are tied for the last Wild Card by points, but Detroit has a game in hand (so they are listed in that position). Thing is, if they do not get a point in this make up game, Rangers vault over them due to Regulation Wins. In fact, no team looking at the WC is even close to them in RWs.

Why would Buffalo trade for Reilly Smith? That makes no sense in any fashion. I'm not trying to be insulative, but the Sabers trading for Smith doesn't make any sense unless they do it today and flip him to another team in the coming days with hopes to get a better deal than they offered NYR.
