Players I have heard we may have discussed at points Georgiev (SJS), McTavish (ANA), Mintyukov (ANA), Peterka (BUF), Benson (BUF), Novak (NSH). I don't believe we were in many extensive talks with them. Just names I have seen/heard.

Hang tight... Vanacek being held out by SJ, not Georgiev... Vanacek for Jarry imminent...? 🤣🤣🤣

The funny thing is that over the last few games, we havent played that badly. We just cant find a win.

Tomorrow could be the day for something.

If Tristan Jarry is gonzo - that's a lot to me.

Trading Rakell, eh.

LMAO, possibly we can get a 1st line winger for Crosby in return.

Sometimes that GM job is tougher than it appears!

Unless Rakell brings a nhl ready prospect back I’m not sure I move him.

I have very little faith in Dubas, Sullivan and FSG.

Some nights we play pretty well, regardless of the score. I thought we did fine last night, but the small windows we gave the Avs, they didn’t miss.

I also feel like there is huge recency bias at the trade deadline and if a team needs another goalie, Ned just helped his stock.

I wonder if we make a trade today. It gives them a few days to practice with the team before our game Friday night.

I'm giving Dubas and FSG until the 2025 Entry Draft is completed.

As for SILKY, he's like the junior exec who comes in does an amazing thing that s/he brought over from their last company, rides the success of that for a few years and quietly gets canned because she/he was basically an empty suit *one trick pony*,

[that's not to be confused with *lying dog-faced pony soldier*].

I’m of the thought trade away all these picks for bonafide NHL’ers that can help Crosby compete as soon as next year. Should have never strayed from that path until the day Crosby calls it quits.

I agree but I think its too late for that now. This season, anyway.

Agree..it blows watching Crosby end on a trash team. It’s not worth watching. Picks won’t do poop for 3 yrs anyway minimum if they even pan out.

If we can hook a NHL ready pick this draft, maybe even 2, and a few of our younger guys develop a bit more then toss in a few FA signings...the on ice product could look a lot different next season and especially the season after. Sid still has at least a few more very quality seasons in him, yet...barring injury, of course.

Meh... For Sid, Geno and Letang to finish on a good team would have taken great drafting with the limited picks over the last decade. Instead, the Pens had one of the worst prospect pools in the league until a year or two ago and It's still not great. Really hard to go for it every year and build a strong pipeline. The flat cap was a killer. We have zero cheap talent.

It's rare for aging stars to finish on top. This was always the most likely outcome considering the decisions they've made over the years. Not to mention their blind loyalty to a losing coach.

I believe no practice today. But the idea has been floated that the Pens will want to make any moves today or tomorrow so any recalls they might need can get out to the west coast. In the grand scheme though it probably doesn't matter.

You're right, they should have kept Guentzel.

I do wonder how different this roster would look if JR was still the GM or our President. I know he had a similar mindset. We asked about Matthew Tkachuk years ago but were hung up on Guentzel being traded in the deal, but I could see JR making that deal. I think Letang would have been traded. Malkin and Crosby seemed to be the only 2 he had loyalty towards. I think the JT Miller for Pettersson deal would have happened a few years back. I do wonder how differently Free agency would have been. I think we can all agree we would definitely not have any of these prospects of picks right now
