I wanted to pop in and let you all know I nearly exited the realm of the living Sunday. I was hit by a tree I was cutting down. Broken clavicle, ribs, and shattered femur. I'll be down for a bit.

As we approach waiver deadline (2ET), have heard Tampa Bay and Seattle working on a deal potentially involving Oliver Bjorkstrand and Yanni Gourde.

Remember: Lightning have Cam Atkinson and newly-signed (to an NHL deal) Logan Brown on waivers today. May affect how things proceed

That almost happened to me a few years ago when I was cutting up a 24" Walnut that fell. I was 3/4 of the way through the last piece I was cutting into 10'lengths when I realized I was downhill. Went to the uphill side, when I got through it rolled 25'. Would have killed me instantly.

This was my stance back in December. I had 3 x 50' pines to come down. My buddy was insistent that we could do it ourselves. Me, not so much. I had an arborist take them down as a weekend cash job. Only charged me $600. I couldn't believe it wasn't 5 times that much!

The trees I'm cutting down are fairly thin, shouldn't be too much of an issue

A couple things I reported yesterday and have been hearing even more in the hours since:

- Something's brewing with Chris Kreider, but a trade is more likely this summer

- #NYR is working on LHD as their top priority to add

Two 1sts (next year and 2027...they do not have one this year), a 2nd rounder (from TOR this year)...for Gourde and Bjorkstrand. I would wager cap retained on both, but only OB would count about 2.7M next year if at 50%.
