I'd prefer they go 1v16 like it should be, President's Trophy should MEAN something, more than facing the WC2 team in your conference. You should be able to play the worst playoff team standings wise and not have to face the #2 seed until the Finals. I know it'll never happen because of travel, and because likely the vast majority of playoff spots would be taken by the Central and Metropolitan and Northeast, but it would be nice.

If going that drastic then I prefer a play in round. Not stopping at 1v16 that completely ignores divisions & conferences. May as well abolish them altogether & be like EPL soccer. All teams face tons of travel

16 plays 19 at home and 17 plays 18 and the winners play for the right to lose to the PT winner in the actual first round.

Belief is Dallas #TexasHockey and Mikko Rantanen’s camp are actively negotiating a new contract - with Carolina’s permission - and a trade is conditioned on an extension.

If that price is met, which it hasn’t been yet, then Mikko Rantanen is expected to become a Dallas Star.

With an extension would be massive. Suck for Colorado to have him end up in the division

Dreaming yes but the pieces & cap is there to swing it. I’ve liked Norris for awhile but so do the Sens. Injuries bad luck. Rossis could be a better expectation. Nothing to do with being Minny born more about scoring.
